Accessing this idyllic tropical paradise is incredibly convenient, thanks to the strategically located Phuket International Airport serving as the primary gateway. Once you arrive at the airport, a picturesque drive of approximately one hour awaits you, leading you to the doorstep of our resort.

Benefits of staying at Club Med Phuket

Staying at Club Med Phuket offers a multitude of advantages, primarily highlighted by its convenient location in close proximity to various amenities. The resort’s strategic placement ensures easy access to essential services, including nearby dining options, massage facilities, pharmacies, convenience shops, vibrant street food stalls, and the bustling night market, enhancing the overall guest experience.

One noteworthy perk is the seamless availability of necessities, making it effortlessly convenient for guests to procure any items they may need or indulge in a rejuvenating massage at their convenience. Notably, the resort distinguishes itself by being free from the presence of monkeys, ensuring a tranquil and undisturbed stay. While occasional sightings of squirrels in the lush garden may add a touch of nature, the absence of monkeys contributes to a serene atmosphere.

Furthermore, Club Med Phuket serves as an ideal base for exploration, allowing guests to easily venture into other parts of Phuket such as Karon or Patong Beach. Transportation options are readily accessible, with taxis conveniently stationed just outside the resort gates. For those inclined towards a more adventurous experience, bike rentals are readily available, providing a flexible and enjoyable means to explore the nearby shops and attractions.

What I don’t like about Club Med Phuket

One drawback of Club Med Phuket is the absence of a private beach. To access the beach, one must cross a public road, and Kata Beach is open to the public. Along the shoreline, numerous vendors offer chairs with umbrellas, as well as massage services. Additionally, Club Med Phuket does not provide water sports facilities, with the exception of snorkelling.

The Zen Pool at Club Med Phuket does not exude the same tranquility as those at Club Med Cherating or Club Med Bali. Situated in front of the Chu-Da specialty restaurant, the Zen Pool lacks the serene ambiance found in other Club Med locations. Fortunately, the restaurant is currently only open for dinner.

Club Med Phuket Review on Newly Renovated Superior and Deluxe Rooms

In my recent visit to Club Med Phuket in December 2023, I was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable transformation undergone by both the Superior and Deluxe rooms.

Redefining the concepts of luxury and comfort, these accommodations now feature expansive layouts, modern furnishings, and private balconies offering captivating views of either the lush gardens or the mesmerizing azure waters. The meticulous attention to detail in both decor and amenities has significantly enhanced the overall stay, providing guests with a tranquil and stylish retreat within the resort.

For those who seek a breathtaking sea view, reserving a Deluxe Room is highly recommended.

Currently, approximately 50% of the rooms have undergone renovations. It has been conveyed to me that the second phase of this revitalisation project is scheduled to commence in March 2024 and will continue until the end of the year, encompassing the remaining rooms.

This ongoing enhancement initiative is poised to further elevate the guest experience at Club Med Phuket, ensuring that every aspect of the accommodation reflects the resort’s commitment to providing a serene and luxurious environment for its patrons.

Renovated Dining, Bar, Swimming Pool and Lounge Areas

Club Med Phuket has undergone a thoughtful renovation, elevating its core areas of dining, bar, swimming pool, and lounge since my last visit in June 2016. The resort boasts an extensive array of culinary experiences, ranging from international buffets to specialty restaurants that showcase the finest Thai and international cuisine.

One notable change is the closure of the specialty restaurant for late lunch, redirecting the focus to the main restaurant, Mamuang. This establishment has introduced an all-day dining section, presenting an à la carte menu for late breakfast, late lunch, and supper, in addition to the existing buffet offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Mamuang Restaurant presents an extensive array of gastronomic delights, showcasing a fusion of flavors from various cuisines including Thai, Indian, Western, Italian, Chinese, and a dedicated Healthy Corner boasting delectable vegan options. Delve into the enticing Italian section, where a diverse selection of mouthwatering pastas and pizzas await discerning palates. The Western corner caters to diverse tastes with an array that spans from succulent fish dishes to mouthwatering steaks.

For those who wants some customisation, the Chinese corner offers a unique experience, allowing guests to tailor their own fried noodles with a selection of ingredients. The Thai section is a haven for lovers of Southeast Asian cuisine, featuring a delightful assortment of curries, rice porridge, noodles, and rice-based dishes that capture the authentic flavours of Thailand.

Dive into the Indian corner to savour a range of vegetarian delights and rich curries, complemented by a variety of naans that add an extra dimension to the culinary journey. The Mamuang Restaurant provides a diverse and satisfying dining experience, where each corner reflects the unique essence of its respective cuisine.

The breakfast selection is particularly enticing, with a personal favourite being the Thai Fried Rice, Yoghurts and Porridge. The innovative automated pancake machine makes fresh pancakes on demand, adding a touch of fun to the morning meal.

When it comes to desserts, the coconut, strawberry, and coffee ice creams stand out as my top choices. Additionally, the abundance of local fruits, such as guava, pineapple, and longan, adds a refreshing touch to the culinary experience.

It’s essential to note that pork is served in the Club Med Phuket restaurant, so guests should be aware of this if they have dietary restrictions.

The revamped bar and lounge areas have been designed to create an ideal setting for socialising. Patrons can enjoy a delightful mix of signature cocktails, live entertainment, and stunning views of the Andaman Sea.

Despite these improvements, an enhancement suggestion would be to consider air-conditioning the theatre area, similar to the setup at Club Med Bintan. This addition would mitigate the discomfort caused by the humid conditions and further enhance the overall guest experience.

Club Med Phuket Review on Activities

Club Med Phuket is widely acclaimed for its extensive range of activities designed to cater to diverse interests and age groups. Whether you are an adrenaline enthusiast or prefer more relaxed pursuits, Club Med Phuket ensures there is something for everyone.

While water sports are not extensively featured at Club Med Phuket, snorkelling stands out as a delightful exception. To participate in the snorkelling trip, guests are required to successfully complete a one-lap swim test a day before the excursion. According to my colleague Andy, who embarked on the snorkelling adventure, the experience surpassed his expectations, especially when compared to Bali. He was thrilled to encounter a variety of vibrant fishes during the trip.

A must-try activity at Club Med Phuket is Thai Kickboxing, where the instructor infuses the learning experience with fun and excitement.

For those inclined towards land sports, Club Med Phuket offers an impressive array, including golf lessons, tennis, padel, volleyball, archery, wall climbing, and more. Notably, a new padel court has been introduced for enthusiasts. However, it’s important to note that the squash courts will be permanently closed when the second phase of renovations commence in March this year.

Club Med Phuket Review on Spa

Club Med Phuket Spa utilises Payot products, offering a luxurious experience for its patrons. Having successfully secured a 50-minute spa session, I was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The treatment not only encompassed rejuvenating spa services but also included access to a jacuzzi and steam room, enhancing the overall sense of relaxation.

The cost of the treatment was THB1360 (MYR 175 or SGD 51), after applying a 15% discount. I found this pricing to be reasonable, especially considering the high-quality amenities and services offered by the resort spa.

Club Med Phuket Spa is known for its dedicated team, ensuring that each day is meticulously crafted to cater to the diverse preferences of its guests.
