Here are a few must-see spots to check out while you’re staying at Club Med Lijiang:

Lijiang Old Town
A stroll through Lijiang Old Town feels like stepping into another time. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s one of the best-preserved ancient towns in China and home to the Naxi people. Think cobbled streets, charming canals, and centuries-old wooden buildings. It’s full of character and definitely worth wandering through.

Baisha Old Town
A little quieter than its famous neighbour, Baisha Old Town is often overlooked — but maybe that’s part of its charm. It was the original settlement of the Naxi people and still holds onto that old-world feel. You’ll find ancient murals, local artisans at work, and a slower, more authentic pace. It’s perfect if you’re looking to escape the crowds for a bit.

Tiger Leaping Gorge
If you’re up for a bit of adventure, Tiger Leaping Gorge is a dramatic, jaw-dropping canyon that’s perfect for hiking. It’s split into three sections — Upper, Middle, and Lower — each with its own kind of wild beauty. It’s one of the deepest gorges in the world, and yeah, the views are unreal.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
This one’s hard to miss — literally. Towering in the distance, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the backdrop to Lijiang and offers all sorts of experiences, from scenic cable car rides to the famous open-air “Impression Lijiang” show. It’s also deeply tied to the local Dongba culture, so there’s more than just pretty views here.

Lugu Lake
A little further out, but absolutely worth the journey, Lugu Lake is peaceful, mysterious, and full of cultural richness. It straddles Yunnan and Sichuan and is known for being the home of the Mosuo people, often referred to as the “Kingdom of Women.” It’s a place that kind of gets under your skin — in the best way.

Blue Moon Valley
Tucked at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Blue Moon Valley looks like something out of a dream. The water really is that surreal shade of turquoise, especially after a bit of rain. It’s quiet, photogenic, and makes for a great little escape into nature.

Black Dragon Pool
Just a short walk from Lijiang Old Town, Black Dragon Pool is a favourite for photographers. On a clear day, you can catch a postcard-perfect reflection of the mountain in the water. It’s peaceful and just beautiful.

The best time to visit Club Med Lijiang is in spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November), when the weather’s pleasantly cool, the skies are clear, and the scenery really comes alive.
