Unlike traditional hotel or airline programs where you painstakingly hoard thousands of points just to “buy” a free night, Club Med does things differently. Instead of treating points like cash discounts, your points act as keys to unlock elite tiers.
The moment you step foot onto a resort property, your status transforms your holiday from a standard getaway into a highly personalized, VIP experience.
How to Earn Great Member Points?
Earning points with Club Med is highly flexible and covers everything from your initial vacation planning to your day-to-day spending at the resort. There are four primary ways to build your points balance:
- Your Package Cost: Earn 1 point for every EUR1 spent on your base resort package. Credited instantly the moment your booking is confirmed!
- Length of Stay: Get an automatic frequency bonus just for holidaying (2,500 bonus points for standard 2 to 7-night stays).
- On-Resort Spending: Earn 100 points for every EUR100 spent at resort, like spa treatments, boutique shopping, or excursions.
- Friend Referrals: Score 2,500 bonus points every time you introduce a new family to the Club Med experience.
When Do Great Member Points Expire?
Your Club Med Great Member points are valid from the exact moment your booking is confirmed until two years (24 months) after you return home from your stay. Because points are credited to your account immediately upon booking, the earlier you lock in your holiday, the longer your points remain alive.
For example, if you book a resort package one year in advance, those initial booking points will effectively last for a total of three years before expiring.
The Household Rule: Up to 6 Adults Under One Account
Unlike rigid hotel loyalty programs that split up your family’s earning potential, Club Med allows you to completely pool your spending to unlock elite status lightning-fast. This is a massive advantage for multi-generational family ski vacations.
- Unified Earning: You can link your spouse, your children, and extended family onto a single, unified Great Members profile. Every amount spent by anyone in the household feeds into the same account.
- Shared Status Perks: The moment your household reaches a premium tier (like Gold or Platinum), every family member traveling under that account code instantly shares and enjoys those exact same premium on-resort privileges.
- The 6-Adult Cap: To keep the program fair, a single household account is limited to a maximum of 6 adult members (aged 18 and above) living under the same roof, plus any dependent children under 18.
Referral Rewards
You earn 2,500 bonus points every time you introduce a new guest to Club Med, and your friend receives an introductory discount on their first vacation.
To claim this reward, the booking must meet these conditions:
- Minimum 4 Nights: Your friend must book a stay of at least 4 nights.
- Non-Blackout Dates: The travel dates must fall outside of major peak holiday periods
- Maximum 40 Percent Discount: The total combined discount on your friend’s booking cannot exceed 40 percent of the standard package price.

- Your Status: Recalculated every year on January 1st based on your total accumulated points from stays over the past two years, plus any upcoming stays you have already locked in.
Can my family members pool their points into one account?
