Flight to Velana International Airport ( Malé) for Club Med Kani

Flying to Club Med Kani is straightforward, especially if you’re coming from Kuala Lumpur. Several airlines operate daily flights to Velana International Airport (MLE), including Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Batik Air. The journey takes about four and a half hours, making it one of the easier routes to paradise compared to many other island destinations.

When you arrive at Velana International Airport, finding your transfer to Club Med Kani is simple. A friendly Club Med GO will be waiting with a “Club Med” sign, or you can head directly to the Club Med counter at E9 in the arrival hall. From there, the speedboat jetty is just across the road from the airport. Since transfers are shared with other arriving guests, there may be a short waiting time before departure, but once you set off, the ride to Club Med Kani is part of the experience, bringing you closer to the turquoise waters and island scenery.

Club Med Kani Shared Speedboat Transfers to/from Velana International Airport

When you book a Club Med flight package, your shared speedboat transfers between Velana International Airport (Malé) and Club Med Kani are automatically included. This means you won’t need to worry about arranging transport on your own, as Club Med takes care of everything from the moment you land.

For guests who book a non-flight package (flights arranged separately), transfers are still available but come at an additional cost. In this case, you’ll need to add the transfer service when confirming your stay with Travelution Holidays so everything is pre-arranged before you arrive. Once the boat leaves, the ride itself is around 25 to 30 minutes across the beautiful turquoise waters, giving you your first taste of the Maldives island scenery.

If you’re staying in the Overwater Suites at Club Med Kani, you can actually arrange a visit to Finolhu. It’s not something that automatically happens, so you’ll need to check with the concierge to book your slot. The visits are available daily between 10am and 11am, but keep in mind they only allow up to 18 guests per day. So if this is something you really want to do, it’s a good idea to plan ahead rather than leaving it to the last minute.

Stepping onto Finolhu feels a little like entering another world. The island is quieter, more private, with a strong focus on eco-luxury. Many guests describe it as peaceful, almost like a retreat compared to the livelier vibe of Kani. Even a short visit gives you a taste of that calm, with its pristine beaches, lush greenery, and beautifully designed villas.
