Is there a minimum age for the Overwater Suites at Club Med Kani?
Yes. To guarantee guest safety, the minimum age required to stay in any Overwater Suite is 8 years old. This strict policy is due to the unfenced, direct lagoon access from the outdoor private terraces. Families traveling with children under 8 years of age can stay in the highly accommodating Superior Garden View, Superior Beachfront, or Deluxe Beachfront rooms, where children under 4 years old stay completely free.
When is the best month to visit Club Med Kani for calm seas?
For the calmest, glass-like water conditions and maximum underwater visibility, the best months to visit are January, February, and March. This is the heart of the dry season (the Northeast Monsoon), where winds are incredibly gentle. February is statistically the absolute driest and calmest month of the year, making it the prime choice for snorkeling, paddleboarding, and swimming.
Can guests at Club Med Kani visit Club Med Finolhu Villas?

Does the Maldives require a visa for tourists?
Most nationalities, including Malaysia and Singapore passport holders, are granted a free 30-day Visa on Arrival for tourism purposes. You must ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date, possess a confirmed return flight ticket, and complete the digital IMUGA Maldives Traveller Declaration Form within 96 hours before your flight’s departure.
Are Halal meals available at Club Med Kani?
Yes. Because the Maldives is a Muslim country, all standard meats (chicken, beef, lamb) served at the resort are sourced from certified Halal suppliers. Please note that pork options are served in the restaurants to cater to international guests and are clearly labeled.
If you require strict Halal preparation or wish to avoid any cross-contamination, simply speak to the restaurant G.O team, and they will gladly walk you through the options or plan a bespoke meal for you.
How are the beds set up in the different room categories?
Bedding setups vary by room category and are structured as follows:
- Superior Rooms: Flexible. These rooms feature two single beds that can be left separate for friends/family or combined seamlessly to form a large double bed.
- Deluxe Rooms & Overwater Suites: Fixed setup. These premium categories feature one double bed on a solid frame that cannot be separated into twin beds.
Note: For accommodating a third guest, a sofa bed is provided in the room layout.

- Rates: Club Med package prices are per adult, based on double occupancy in a Superior Room or Overwater Suites for selected check-in dates.
- Rates Include: Accommodation, all-day dining, open bar, group sports lessons, entertainment and kids’ clubs (4+ years)
- Not Included: Flight tickets, speedboat transfers, travel insurance, visas, private sports lessons, excursions, laundry services, room surcharges, childcare for children below 4 years old, premium dishes and drinks, items marked with an asterisk (*), and personal expenses unless otherwise stated.
- Final Price: Rates are dynamic and may change at any time without prior notice. Prices are only confirmed once payment has been received and the booking has been successfully validated.
Age-Based Discounts
- Teens (12–17 years): Up to 20% off the adult rate.
- Children (4–11 years): Up to 40% off the adult rate.
- Toddlers & Infants (Under 4 years): Stay for free.
Reservation Changes (Days Before Check-in):
- 60 or more days: A fee of MYR200 per person applies for amendments. However, the fee will be waived if the new booking is of a higher value, and you will only need to pay the fare difference.
- Within 60 Days: Subject to cancellation charges below.
Cancellation Charges (Days Before Check-in):
- 60 or more days: Deposit is forfeited
- 59 to 31 days: 50% of total holiday cost
- 30 to 15 days: 70% of total holiday cost
- 14 to 0 days: 100% of total holiday cost
Payment Schedule
- More than 60 days from check-in: A deposit of 20% of the total holiday cost is required to secure your reservation. The remaining 80% balance must be settled at least 60 days before check-in.
- Within 60 days of check-in: Full payment (100%) is required immediately upon booking to validate and confirm your stay.
- If your package includes airfare, 100% of the flight cost is required at the time of booking, regardless of the check-in date.
- Failure to settle the balance by the 60-day deadline may result in the automatic cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of the deposit.
Important Notes
- Restrictions: Minimum stay requirements may apply during peak periods or when availability is limited.
- Promotions: All promotions are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. Certain offers may not be valid during blackout dates, especially during peak travel seasons such as Chinese New Year, year-end holidays, and school holidays.
