What’s changing at Club Med Cherating.
A first look at what’s ahead.
The renovated Club Med Cherating will bring several changes to the familiar resort layout. The bar will move to the current theatre location, giving it views towards the South China Sea, while the theatre will move further back towards the Kids Club area.
The accommodation will also be refreshed, with new room categories including Superior Family Themed Rooms and Deluxe Rooms. Some existing rooms will be reconfigured by combining two rooms into one, creating larger and more spacious accommodation.
Details are based on currently available information and may be updated as Club Med finalises the renovated resort.

How will travellers reach Club Med Cherating?
The location remains roughly 3.5 hours by road from Kuala Lumpur and about 45 minutes from Kuantan airport. Transfer arrangements will be confirmed with the reopening programme.

What is changing with the rooms at the reopened resort?
Superior and Suite rooms will remain, alongside new options including Superior Family Themed Rooms and Deluxe Rooms. Some existing rooms are also being combined to create larger, more spacious accommodation.

Will the reopened Cherating suit families?
Yes. Club Med Cherating is a family resort, with accommodation, Kids Clubs and activities designed for families travelling with children. The renovated resort will continue to offer a family focused Club Med experience surrounded by nature.

How does monsoon season affect Cherating?
Cherating’s east-coast weather remains seasonal. After reopening, sea conditions may still affect water sports and beach use, while the new indoor programme has yet to be announced.

Will transfers be available after reopening?
Transfer options from Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan are expected to be available, with prices to be confirmed closer to reopening.
The new East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) will also provide another way to reach Cherating. The Cherating ECRL station is approximately 10 minutes by car from the resort.

Bookings are expected to be accepted from March 2027. We recommend registering your interest so we can contact you when confirmed dates, rooms and opening-phase inclusions are released.
