Tucked away on the quiet side of Club Med Cherating, Rembulan Restaurant is one of those places you might not notice unless someone points it out. It’s a little hidden gem — perched on the Pantai side of the resort, just a short jungle train ride from the main area.
Once you’re there, though, it feels like a whole different world. Calm, breezy, a little slower in the best way. The restaurant sits right by the sea, with indoor seating if you prefer comfort, and an outdoor terrace if you want to soak up the view and the sound of the waves. It’s the kind of spot you go to when you’re craving a quiet meal, away from the crowd, with nothing but the ocean and a good plate of food in front of you.
Opening Hours and Schedule
The Rembulan Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, but not every day, and not for every meal. Here’s a quick look at the schedule:
- Lunch: 1:00pm to 2:30pm
- Dinner: 7:00pm to 9:30pm
- Closed on Tuesdays and occasionally closed on other days too. Please check the resort programme once you are at Club Med Cherating
No reservations are needed for lunch — just walk-in. For dinner, reservations are required, and it’s best to book at least a day in advance at the resort main bar. Space is limited, and it tends to fill up quickly, especially during peak travel periods or school holidays.

The Food: Light, Fusion, Fresh
Now, the important part — the food.
Rembulan Restaurant serves up a thoughtful Asian fusion menu, blending local ingredients and regional flavours with a modern twist. You might find a Thai-inspired curry on the same menu as a miso-glazed fish, or a grilled satay served with something unexpectedly French. It’s not over-the-top fancy, but it’s definitely elevated from your standard buffet fare.
For the health-conscious, there are low-calorie options that don’t sacrifice taste — light broths, grilled proteins, and fresh veggies that still feel indulgent. And for those in the mood to splurge a little, Rembulan Restaurant also offers premium upgrades like wagyu beef or lobster. These come at an extra cost, but they’re beautifully done and well worth considering for a special night.
Lunch: Easygoing, No Fuss
If you’re wandering around the resort around lunchtime and craving a quieter meal with a view, head to Rembulan Restaurant. There’s no need to reserve, and the vibe is super relaxed.
Lunch here is more casual — a small buffet spread with light dishes and, on certain days, a beachside barbecue. Think grilled chicken, simple pastas, tropical fruit, and fresh salads. You can grab a plate, sit out on the terrace, and just soak in the breeze.
It’s perfect for guests who prefer something lighter in the middle of the day or simply want to get away from the larger crowds at Mutiara Restaurant.
Dinner: A More Refined Experience
Dinner at Rembulan Restaurant is where things shift up a gear. The lighting softens, the menus come out, and everything feels just a bit more intimate. The menu is à la carte, meaning you’ll be served at your table, and there’s a calm, unhurried pace that makes the evening feel special.
As mentioned earlier, you’ll need to reserve a table, and it’s best to do so in the morning at the main bar. The number of tables is limited, and once they’re gone, that’s it for the night.
The dinner menu changes slightly depending on the season and availability, but it’s consistently well-curated. Think tamarind prawns, beef tenderloin, coconut panna cotta — that kind of thing.
Also, just like everywhere else in Club Med, drinks including soft drinks, tea, coffee, and house wines (red, white, rosé) are included with your meal as part of the All-Inclusive package.

Getting There: The Train Ride Through the Jungle
Now, because Rembulan Restaurant sits on the far side of the resort, you’ll need to get there via the resort’s jungle train. It’s a fun little ride, especially if you’re with kids or just enjoy the whole back-to-nature vibe.
- During the day, the train departs from the area behind Enak Restaurant, near Block F.
- In the evenings, after the sun goes down, the pickup point shifts to the main lobby.
Once you get off the train, there’s a short walk to the restaurant. Just a few minutes. It’s worth knowing in advance, especially if you’re bringing young kids or have mobility concerns.
A Few Handy Tips
- Mosquito repellent is a good idea, especially if you plan to dine on the terrace.
- If the weather looks iffy, bring an umbrella.
- For dinner, book early in the day. Waiting till the evening often means missing out.
- Lunch is always a more laid-back, walk-in affair. No need to plan ahead.
- If Rembulan’s full or closed, don’t worry, Mutiara Restaurant has you covered.
What if Rembulan Restaurant is Full?
It happens. If Rembulan Restaurant is fully booked or not operating that day, you’re still in good hands. Head over to Mutiara Restaurant, the resort’s main dining venue. It’s open daily and serves up a rotating international buffet that covers just about everything, Malay classics, Japanese favourites, Indian curries, Italian comfort food, and a whole spread of Western dishes, all with Club Med’s signature French flair.
The restaurant is spacious, has both indoor and outdoor seating, and is great for family-style dining. It’s also where you’ll find live cooking stations and themed dinners that change throughout the week.
