Searching for the ultimate beach escape? Something laid-back but still full of life? Club Med Cherating might be exactly what you’re looking for.
Tucked away on Peninsular Malaysia’s quiet east coast, it’s where tropical jungle leans right into the South China Sea. There’s a calmness to it. A sense that you’ve stepped off the grid, but not too far — just enough to breathe a little deeper.
In this review, we’ll take you through what makes this all-inclusive resort such a standout. The peaceful beaches, the daily yoga, the eco-friendly touches that actually feel meaningful, and yep — even the flying trapeze (if you’re feeling brave). Whether it’s a family holiday, a romantic short escape, or just you needing a bit of space to reset, Club Med Cherating somehow pulls it all off. It’s got comfort, culture, and nature all wrapped into one easy, relaxed experience.
So, make yourself a coffee, a tea, or maybe even a cocktail. Whatever suits the mood. Let’s take a look at what your next holiday could feel like.
Club Med Cherating Location
Right along the unspoiled east coast of Peninsular Malaysia sits Club Med Cherating. A place where rainforest meets ocean, and everything feels a little wilder in the best way.
It’s about 50 km north of Kuantan and 16 km south of Chukai, so getting there doesn’t feel like a mission. Once you arrive, though, it really does feel like you’ve left everything behind.
The resort stretches across 80 hectares of lush, green jungle. Not manicured garden paths — actual rainforest. You’ll spot monkeys swinging through the trees and maybe even sea turtles nesting on the beach if the timing’s right. The whole place just breathes. It’s open-air, open-hearted, and feels like it’s always been there.
Also, fun fact: this isn’t just any Club Med. It’s the biggest one in the world.
Opened in 1979, Club Med Cherating was the very first in Asia. And somehow, after all these years, it still holds onto that adventurous, slightly rebellious energy. People don’t just stay here. They wander, they try new things, they slow down without feeling bored. It’s a bit like pressing pause, but in a place that still hums with life.

A Coastal Gem You’ll Actually Remember
Cherating Beach isn’t just easy on the eyes, it’s got soul. There’s this wide, golden stretch of sand that seems to go on forever, and the waves? Always rolling in gently, never in a rush. It’s the kind of place that settles you without trying too hard. Quiet, a little untamed, and honestly perfect if your brain needs a break from all the city noise.
And yes, believe it or not, you can actually surf here. It’s one of the rare beaches on Malaysia’s east coast where the waves are good enough to ride. Kind of a hidden gem for water sports lovers. Even if you don’t surf, just sitting there watching people catch wave after wave, it’s oddly hypnotic. The whole place feels alive, but not loud. Peaceful, yet far from dull.
Sea Turtles, Stars, and Something That Stays With You
Cherating isn’t just about the beach vibes or pretty views. It’s also home to something quieter. Something older.
This coastline is one of Malaysia’s most important sea turtle nesting spots. Every year, like clockwork, these gentle creatures return to the same shores their ancestors once did, just to lay their eggs. It’s wild to think about, really.
And just down the beach from Club Med, there’s a small turtle sanctuary doing the kind of work that doesn’t make headlines but absolutely matters. They’re there to protect, to educate, and to give these creatures a fighting chance. It’s simple stuff, no bells and whistles, but if you visit, you’ll feel it.
And if the timing’s right? You might witness something you’ll never forget. A mother turtle, emerging from the sea to nest. It’s quiet. Raw. And it stays with you.
Moments like that don’t just fill your camera roll. They sit somewhere deeper.

Club Med Cherating Resort Layout
One thing Club Med Cherating really gets right? The way it blends into the surroundings.
The resort’s layout doesn’t fight the jungle or the beach. It flows with it. There are two main zones: the Main Area and Pantai Beach. Same resort, two totally different vibes.
Let’s start with the Main Area.
This is where everything’s happening. The accommodation blocks labelled A to O, are all here. And they’re not your standard hotel rooms either. Picture long wooden buildings on stilts, stretching through the greenery. They’re built in a style inspired by traditional Malay kampung houses, which gives the whole place a rustic, grounded charm. Fun fact: this stilted structure is actually the longest of its kind in the world. Like, officially — Guinness World Record and all. You’ll get why that’s cool once you see it.
This part of the resort also packs in all the essentials:
The Kids Club (a game-changer for parents), the Gym, Boutique, Spa, main swimming pool, and a ton of land sports like archery and tennis. So whether you’re looking to chill or burn off last night’s dessert, it’s all within reach.
Now if you’re chasing peace and quiet, Pantai Beach is where you’ll want to be. It’s tucked further down the coastline, kind of hidden away, and feels like a whole different world. Adults-only, calm, and honestly just good for the soul. The Zen Pool is here, and yep, it’s as relaxing as it sounds. No music, no splashy kids. Just you, the sun, and maybe a book you’ve been meaning to finish.
When it comes to food, Rembulan Restaurant is nearby the beach and definitely worth the trip. Think fresh, beautifully plated meals with the sound of waves in the background. On the other side, the Bayou Beach Bar is your go-to for drinks. Cocktails, mocktails, whatever suits the moment.
This side of the resort is also where they keep the fun stuff: kayaking, sailing, even rock climbing if you’re in the mood to test your grip.
Getting between the two zones is easy. You can hop on the resort’s little shuttle train, it comes by every half hour or so. But if you’re up for it, take the jungle trail. It’s a scenic 20-minute walk through trees, birdsong, and the occasional monkey sighting. Not a bad way to stretch your legs.

When’s the Best Time to Visit Club Med Cherating?
You can visit Club Med Cherating anytime. It’s open year-round, but if you’re after the sweet spot? Aim for June to August. The weather’s usually great around then, sunny without being unbearable. And here’s the real bonus: it lines up with turtle nesting season. If you’re lucky, you might get to see baby turtles hurrying towards the sea for the first time. It’s one of those moments that kind of stays with you.
Now, if your travel dates fall between late November and February, just know it’s monsoon season. Rain is definitely part of the picture. Some outdoor activities like sailing, jungle trekking, might be paused when it pours. But Club Med doesn’t leave you stranded. They’ve got a lineup of indoor stuff to keep you entertained. Think table tennis, badminton, dance classes, quizzes, board games, enough to keep things fun, even if you can’t be out under the sun.
One more thing. Year-end can get really busy. Like, surprisingly busy. Lots of companies book trips around that time to use up their budgets, so it’s not just weekends that get packed, weekdays too. On my last trip, from 4th to 8th November, the place was completely full. Not a single room left. So if you’re thinking of going around then, book early. Seriously. Don’t leave it to chance.

Club Med Cherating Check-In and Check-Out Time
Check-in officially starts at 3:00 PM, but if you get there a little earlier, say around 2:30 PM, you’ll usually be allowed in. Show up much earlier though, and you might be charged an early arrival fee:
- Adults: RM180 per person
- Teens: RM140 per person
- Children: RM110 per person
The fee includes lunch on arrival day, so at least you won’t go hungry. And if you’re a Club Med Silver, Gold, or Platinum member? Lucky you, that early arrival fee is waived.
Check-out time is by 10:00 AM on your last day. But don’t worry, you’re not being rushed out. Lunch is still included, and you can hang around the resort and use the facilities until 3:00 PM. Swim, lounge, snack, no one’s shooing you away.
Need extra time in the room? Late check-out is available at RM50 per room, per hour. Just be sure to ask the day before, as it’s subject to availability.
Do You Still Have to Pay a Club Med Membership Fee?
Nope, not anymore. Club Med Malaysia used to charge a yearly membership fee on top of your package, but that’s been scrapped. These days, everything’s bundled into one upfront price, so booking is simpler and less confusing.
Club Med Great Members Programme
The moment you book your first Club Med trip, you’re automatically part of their Great Members loyalty programme. No sign-ups, no fuss. Just book your holiday and you’re in.
The more you travel, the more little perks you unlock. Things like gift cards, premium Wi-Fi, free early arrival, and room upgrades. Nothing too flashy, but they do make your holiday feel a bit more special.
There’s also a referral reward that’s honestly quite a good deal:
- Your friend gets RM280 off their first Club Med trip
- You get RM560 in travel credit once they’ve travelled, which you can use for your next booking
The only thing to note is your friend needs to stay at least 4 nights, and travel on non-blackout dates.
So basically, you get rewarded for introducing someone to holidays you already love. They get a discount, you get travel credit. Everybody wins!

Getting to Club Med Cherating
Getting there’s pretty straightforward — and kind of scenic, too.
Driving from Kuala Lumpur?
It’s about 3.5 hours by car. The drive takes you along the Karak Highway and East Coast Expressway (LPT). It’s mostly smooth roads, rolling greenery, sleepy towns, and flashes of kampung life along the way.
Heads-up on tolls:
- Gombak: RM4.00
- Bentong: RM3.50
- Karak to Jabor: RM17.95 Total: RM25.45 each way
You’ll need a Touch ’n Go card, so have that ready. Once you exit the highway, it’s just a short drive through some coastal roads until the trees open up and – boom – you’re at Club Med Cherating.
Prefer not to drive?
No problem. We can arrange private bus or van transfers from KL. Just give us a shout and we’ll sort it out.
Already in Kuantan?
You’re even closer. Just a 50-minute drive along the Kuantan–Kemaman road. It’s smooth and scenic — jungle, sea, and the occasional village along the way.
Driving an Electric Vehicle?
There’s no EV charging station inside the resort at the moment. But don’t worry, the nearest one is only about 10 minutes away, just 3.5 km from Club Med. You can find it easily on Google Maps.
Flying In? Club Med Cherating Airport Transfers
If you’re flying, your best bet is to land at Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport (KUA) — better known as Kuantan Airport. Malaysia Airlines offers regular flights from KLIA.
Once you land, it’s just about an hour’s drive to the resort. A taxi costs around RM80 per car each way. Or, for something smoother, you can book Club Med’s airport transfer service:
- Adults: From RM120 one-way
- Children: From RM96 one-way
No need to stress. It’s all taken care of.
Arriving at Club Med Cherating
If you’re driving in, just let the security team know your Club Med booking file number (it usually starts with 344). Or flash them a soft copy of your booking confirmation, either one works to get through the gate.
Once you reach the main lobby, you might need to wait a little if a group has just arrived. Space is limited, so they’ll let you through once things clear up. Drop your luggage at the entrance, and a friendly Club Med GO will give you a car park voucher. After that, just head to the open-air car park, leave your car, and stroll back to check in.
Your bags will be delivered straight to your room. No dragging needed.
Oh, and one small thing: if you brought snacks, keep them hidden. Monkeys do roam the grounds and they’re not shy about stealing. Also, make sure your water bottles are sealed tight, just in case they get moved into a bag and leak.
From there, you’ll head to the theatre for a short welcome briefing. You’ll get your digital wristband, a welcome drink, and a quick run-through of what’s where. Then, you’re officially on holiday.

What’s Included in the Club Med Cherating Package?
At Club Med Cherating, all-inclusive really means all-inclusive.
Like, no surprise charges, no sneaky extras. Just one upfront price and everything’s taken care of. So you can actually switch off and enjoy yourself without thinking, “Wait, is this going to cost more?”
Here’s what’s part of the package:
- Your stay in traditional longhouse-style rooms. Cosy, charming, and built on stilts that blend beautifully with the jungle vibes.
- Six meals a day. Yes, six. Breakfast, late breakfast (for those slower mornings), lunch, teatime snacks, dinner, and even supper if you’re still feeling peckish.
- Free-flow drinks. From juices and soft drinks to bubble tea, mocktails, cocktails, and wine. Cheers to that.
- Snacks all day. Beachside BBQs, pop-up food carts, little bites at the bar. You won’t go hungry, promise.
- Sports and activities. Loads of them, with group classes too (great if you’ve always wanted to try something new but didn’t want to go solo).
- Live entertainment every night. Think shows, music, the occasional surprise.
- Kids Club programmes for ages 4 to 17. So parents, you get a proper break too.
- Wi-Fi throughout the resort, because, let’s be honest, you’re probably still going to post that beach sunset.
With all this included, the only thing you might need to think about… is whether to start your morning with yoga or head straight for a cocktail by the pool. Either way, it’s your pace, your holiday.
Just show up. The rest? Already handled.

Club Med Cherating Rooms
At Club Med Cherating, there are three main room types: Superior Garden, Superior Seaside, and the more spacious Suite Seaside Terrace. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with the whole crew, there’s something that’ll fit just right.
Oh, and if you’re coming as a family, interconnecting rooms are available too. They’re basically two rooms linked by an internal door. Super handy if you want to stay close without cramming into one space. Everyone gets their own bed, and you won’t need to shuffle through the hallway in your pyjamas.
Every room comes with the basics you’d expect: air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and enough comfort to settle in and feel at home.
Superior Rooms
These are your entry-level rooms, but they’re anything but basic. There are two options: Garden View and Seaside View. Both the same size at 21 sqm.
Inside, you’ll find:
- Two super single beds (can be pushed together to make a double)
- A sofa bed (in Garden View only)
- Flat-screen TV, coffee and tea-making kit, hairdryer
- Separate shower and toilet with bidet
- An empty mini fridge for your own snacks or drinks
Just a heads-up, no bathtub in this category. And the main difference between the two is the view. Garden rooms are surrounded by lush greenery, while Seaside rooms give you a peek at the ocean.

Suite Seaside Terrace
Now if you’re looking to splurge a little (or just want more room to spread out), the Suite is a lovely upgrade.
Tucked away at the quieter end of the resort, this 55 sqm space comes with:
- A separate living area
- A sun deck with outdoor seating
- Bathtub and shower
- Daily-refreshed minibar
- International TV channels
- In-room continental breakfast
- Priority reservations at the specialty restaurant
It’s peaceful, private, and just the right kind of extra.

Room Occupancy & Bedding Arrangements
Here’s how the sleeping setup works for most rooms:
- Superior Garden: Two single beds (can be joined into a double), plus a sofa bed for one child. Cots available if you’re bringing a baby.
- Superior Seaside: Same bed layout, but no sofa bed.
- Suite: Suitable for couples or small families wanting more space. Ask us if you’re unsure about layout.
Technically, triple sharing is allowed, but just note that the third adult would be on the sofa bed, which is designed more for kids. If you’re considering this, best to check with us first at Travelution Holidays so we can confirm availability with the resort.
Travelling as a family of four? You’ll need one set of interconnecting rooms. Club Med requires each guest to have a proper bed (no squeezing extras in), and pricing is always per person, not per room. So combining guests into one space doesn’t bring the cost down, just makes it a little more… snug.
Club Med Cherating Drinks
One of the underrated joys of staying at Club Med Cherating? The drinks.
Yep, all included. Whether you’re in the mood for something boozy or a refreshing mocktail, you won’t need to pull out your wallet.
At the restaurants, you’ve got the basics covered: water, soft drinks, juices, tea, coffee, beer, and wine. All served by the glass, all part of the package.
Now, let’s talk bars. There are three main ones:
- The Orchid Bar. The liveliest of the bunch, near the theatre. This is where you’ll find the most variety, from classic cocktails to creative mocktails and everything in between. It’s open late and tends to be the social hub of the resort.
- Bayou Beach Bar, right by the sea. It’s more laid-back here, perfect for a cold drink with your toes in the sand. Selection’s a bit more limited, but still enough to keep you happy.
- Zen Pool Bar. Adults only, super chill. It’s more about the peace and quiet than the drinks, but you’ll still get a decent pour.
Do note, while there’s always something good on the menu, we did notice a few favourites from past trips were missing this time around. It looks like the drink list rotates a little depending on the season, so if there’s something you loved on a previous visit, it might not be there now. But overall, you’ll still have plenty to choose from.

Club Med Cherating Food
At Club Med Cherating, going hungry isn’t really a thing. With six meals a day included (yes, six), there’s always something on hand. Whether it’s breakfast, a late bite, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, or even a cheeky supper to wrap up the night.
Meals are spread out across three restaurants, each with its own vibe and variety, so it’s easy to switch things up every day.
And if you just want a quick snack in between? There’s a food cart near the bar that’s perfect for that. Whether you’re after something filling or just a nibble to keep you going, Club Med Cherating has you sorted.
Mutiara Restaurant
Mutiara is the main buffet restaurant. The heartbeat of dining at Club Med Cherating. It’s where breakfast, lunch, and dinner happen daily. The space has a bright, open layout with live cooking stations, and the variety is honestly impressive. You’ll find everything from Chinese and Malay to Indian, Japanese, Italian, and good ol’ Western comfort food.
A few personal favourites? The nasi lemak. The sambal has just the right kick. Surprisingly, the pizza’s pretty good too. And the Japanese corner always pulls its weight. That said, the beef rendang didn’t hit the mark this time, a bit tough, unfortunately.
Still, Mutiara easily delivers one of the better buffet experiences we’ve had at any Club Med. A nice mix of flavour, comfort, and plenty of choice that makes you want to come back again and again.

Rembulan Restaurant
Tucked away at Pantai Beach, Rembulan is a little more off-the-beaten-path. You’ll need to take the Club Med shuttle train to get there. It runs regularly, so it’s no hassle. The setting feels quieter, a bit more intimate, and a nice change from the main dining crowd.
During the day, they serve a simple buffet for late lunch. But at dinner, it transforms into a table-service restaurant with a more refined feel. You’ll need to book at least a day ahead, so plan early if you want a spot.
Still hungry after dinner? You can always ask for seconds from the Rembulan menu, or check if Mutiara’s still open. And if all else fails, the trusty Malaysia Chiak cart usually has your back.

Enak Restaurant
Enak is the in-between hero. A cosy little space right next to Mutiara that opens up when Mutiara’s taking a break.
It’s your go-to for late breakfast, late lunch, or supper. The late brekkie lineup is simple but solid: fresh juice, congee, nasi lemak, cereals, bread, eggs. When it switches to late lunch or supper, you’ll find comforting noodle bowls and light salads. Nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you just need a bite to tide you over.

Malaysia Chiak
Malaysia Chiak is Club Med Cherating’s very own food cart, tucked conveniently near the bar. It reminds us a bit of the Pondok Ria cart at Club Med Bintan. Casual, fun, and surprisingly good.
The cart operates in three shifts:
- 10:00 – 12:00
- 18:30 – 20:30pm
- 21:45pm – 23:00
Depending on when you go, you might find different options. Sandwiches, fruit, maybe some noodles or oden. It’s the perfect snack stop, especially after the nightly show or when you’re just in the mood for something light and local.

Special Dietary Requirements
Club Med Cherating offers halal-friendly meals, though it’s worth noting the kitchen isn’t officially halal-certified, mostly because alcohol like beer and wine are served on site.
If you have special dietary needs like vegetarian, allergies, gluten-free, it’s best to speak with the head chef directly. They’re usually more than happy to help, whether it’s pointing you to suitable options or cooking something up just for you.
On our trip in November 2023, my mum wasn’t feeling great during lunch one day. Honestly? The team really came through. The Chinese chef whipped up a comforting bowl of porridge just for her, and Sean, the restaurant manager, even went out of his way to bring her some yogurt. Those small, thoughtful moments really stood out.
And for parents with little ones, there’s a 24/7 baby corner next to Mutiara. You’ll find sweet and savoury baby food, a blender, steriliser, bottle warmer, microwave, and mineral water. Everything you’d need to prep a quick meal for your bub.
Meals on Arrival Day
If you’re arriving on check-in day, just a heads-up: lunch isn’t included, unless you are a Club Med Silver, Gold or Platinum member.
But no worries, Enak Restaurant is open for late lunch and serves light options like noodles and salads. The Malaysia Chiak food cart is another good bet if you arrive during its open hours. Think pastries, fruit, and small bites to keep you going until dinner.
If you’re coming in early, before the official check-in time, Club Med offers an early arrival fee that includes access to the buffet lunch and drinks. Handy if you want to eat, chill, and wait comfortably for your room.
Meals on Departure Day
On your final day, you still get to enjoy breakfast and lunch before you leave. Just remember, you’ll need to check out and leave the resort by 3:00pm. Staying beyond that could come with extra charges.

Club Med Cherating Activities
If there’s one thing Club Med’s known for, it’s packing your holiday with more activities than you’ll have time for. And Cherating? It really delivers.
Whether you’re feeling sporty or just a little curious to try something new, there’s always something going on. You’ve got three private beaches, which is honestly kind of wild. One minute you’re sipping a drink under the sun, the next you’re off kayaking or joining a yoga class by the water. There are two pools, a fitness centre, tennis courts — and yes, even a flying trapeze. (It looks scarier than it is. Give it a go.)
Here’s a peek at what you can expect:

A lot of these come with group lessons, which is great if you want a bit of guidance or, honestly, just want to meet people. Schedules are available on the Club Med app. They sometimes change based on age group or weather, so it’s good to check before heading out.
Now and then, an activity might be cancelled due to rain or rough seas. It happens. But there’s always something else going on, so it’s rarely a deal-breaker.

Private Lessons
If you’d rather focus on something specific, like polishing your tennis skills or learning to sail properly, you can book private lessons. These are personalised and one-on-one, and the instructors really know their stuff. Friendly, patient, and certified in their sport, they’ll tailor the session to suit your pace and goals.
Private Lessons | Price Per Hour |
---|---|
Archery | Single (6 years+) – RM200 Couple – RM240 Group (3-5 pax) – RM460 |

Excursions
Club Med also offers a few off-resort trips for a little extra. Think firefly tours through the mangroves or peaceful river cruises. You can pre-book these when you make your reservation, or decide later once you’re there. Just swing by the excursions desk (it’s near the bar, pretty easy to find).

Spa Treatments
If your idea of a perfect holiday leans more towards “do nothing and get pampered,” the on-site spa has you covered. It’s run by Sothys, which is a pretty luxe brand you’ll usually only find in professional spas.
They’ve got a solid menu of treatments. Massages, facials, the works. All done by trained therapists using high-quality products. Spa services aren’t part of the all-inclusive deal, so you’ll need to budget a little extra. Still, if you’re due for a bit of indulgence, it’s worth it.

Entertainment
Evenings at Club Med Cherating tend to follow a nice rhythm. Dinner, then a show at the theatre. The GOs put on different performances each night. Sometimes it’s a musical, sometimes it’s a bit of comedy, or a circus act. It’s not Broadway, but it’s fun and full of heart.
And after the show? There’s usually dancing. The “crazy signs” are a Club Med tradition. If you know, you know, and it’s a bit of goofy fun that tends to bring everyone together. Keep an eye on the app or the notice board near the theatre for what’s happening each night.
Evening Dress Code
This part’s optional, but kind of fun. Every night has a theme. All-white, floral, that kind of thing. You don’t have to dress up, but a lot of guests do, and it adds to the vibe. You’ll find the dress code in the app each day so you can plan ahead if you want to join in.

Team Building & Activities
Team bonding doesn’t have to mean awkward icebreakers. At Club Med Cherating, the activities are actually fun. You’ll find everything from beach clean-ups (a meaningful and eco-friendly way to give back) to quirky challenges like Lego building or the Great Nail Game.
Looking for something more adventurous? You can book private sessions for rock climbing, yoga, fitness classes, or even try the flying trapeze. Yes, really. Everything’s customisable to match your team’s energy and goals, whether you’re after heart-pumping action or a more chilled vibe.

Club Med Cherating Tips
- Check-in starts at 3pm, but if you’re itching to start your holiday early, you can. Just pay the early arrival fee and you’ll get access to the buffet lunch, drinks, and even some activities while you wait for your room to be ready. Worth it, honestly, if you arrive at noon.
- On your last day, rooms need to be cleared out by 10am. But don’t worry, you can hang around the resort until 3pm. Lunch is still included, and if you want to freshen up before heading home, there’s a handy shower room tucked just below the bar.
- It’s a good idea to download the Club Med app. That’s where you’ll find the daily schedule, themed dress codes (yes, they’re a thing), and updates on what’s happening around the resort.
- If it fits your travel plans, staying at least three nights really helps you settle in and get into the Club Med rhythm. Two nights just feels a bit too rushed.
- As for what to pack, definitely swimwear, comfy sports shoes, sandals, a couple of changes of clothes, insect repellent, and sunscreen. If you’ve got little ones in tow, don’t forget to bring proof of their up-to-date vaccinations. It’s required during childcare registration.
- Need to do laundry? You’ll find washing machines on the ground floor of some accommodation blocks. Tokens are available at reception, so it’s pretty straightforward.
- Oh, and last thing: bring along your Club Med confirmation email and a passport or ID. You’ll need those when you check in.

Club Med Cherating Promotion
If you’re planning to stay a little longer, or if you like getting things sorted ahead of time, there are some pretty good savings to be had. Book two nights and you can get up to 20% off. Go for three nights or more, and that discount can climb to 30%. And if you book early, you might even catch a weekend stay at weekday prices. Handy, since weekends usually cost more.
Keep in mind that Club Med uses dynamic pricing, which means the price can creep up as rooms start filling or your dates get closer. So if you’ve got specific travel dates in mind, best to lock them in early. All it takes is a 20% deposit per person, and your spot, and your price is secured.
Little things like this can make a big difference, especially if you’re planning around school holidays or long weekends. A bit of early planning really does go a long way.

Our Club Med Cherating Review
So, is Club Med Cherating worth it? Honestly, Yes. We think it’s a solid pick, especially if you’re after a chill, all-in-one beach escape that still gives you things to do.
What makes it stand out is the setting. It’s tucked away along the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, surrounded by lush rainforest and wide, uncrowded beaches. It’s quiet in all the right ways, the kind of place where time slows down just enough for you to actually relax.
The activities are a good mix too. Water sports like sailing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding are there if you’re feeling active, but you’ve also got tennis courts, a flying trapeze, a gym… even nature walks. And if you’re curious about local culture, there are excursions that give you a closer look at the area’s traditions and wildlife.
Food-wise, you’ll be sorted. The main restaurant covers all the basics, and the beachside restaurant gives you those relaxed seaside vibes. Throw in a few bars and the fact that meals, snacks, and drinks are all included, and you’re in for a treat.
All in all, Club Med Cherating is the kind of place that leaves you feeling like you actually had a holiday. It’s easygoing, fun, and the kind of spot that works whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with the whole family in tow.

Refreshed and Ready: Club Med Cherating’s 2024 Makeover
Club Med Cherating got a fresh new look in July 2024, and honestly, it shows.
The rooms have been updated with new flooring, curtains, bidet, decorative pillows and bed runners, plus a digital lock system for added peace of mind. You’ll also find eco-friendlier bathroom amenities now, which is a nice touch if you’re trying to travel a little greener.
Around the resort, the facelift continues. There’s new furniture in the restaurants, bar, and Orchid Lounge, and the meeting rooms now have soft new carpet underfoot. Poolside and on the beach, you’ll notice brand new sun loungers too, perfect for a lazy afternoon nap after lunch.
It still has the same laid-back jungle-meets-beach charm, just with a little polish.

Booking Club Med Cherating
Booking through Travelution Holidays is super straightforward. No confusing forms or endless back-and-forth. You’ll chat with Andy, Eugene, or Jordan directly. Just let them know when you’d like to go and how many are in your group.
Travelling with other families? Bring that up too, and for kids and teens, they’ll need ages at check-in to get the right room type and rate.
Need help with flights or transfers? Just ask. They’ll quote you the total cost and break it all down for you.
Once you’re ready to go ahead, they’ll need everyone’s full name, gender, and birthdate to lock things in. After that, you’ll get a Club Med confirmation with all your booking details, which you can also check on the Club Med website.
If you’re booking more than 60 days ahead, you just need to pay a 20% deposit for the resort part, plus full payment for any flights or transfers. The balance is due 60 days before check-in. Booking last-minute? Then it’s full payment upfront.
The best part? You’ve got one go-to person handling everything. No hotlines, no jumping between platforms. Just a smooth, human touch from start to finish, so you can focus on the fun part: the countdown to your holiday.
