If you’ve stayed with Club Med before, you’ve probably heard about the Club Med Great Members programme. It’s their loyalty system, and while it might seem simple on the surface, there are plenty of little ways to make it work harder for you. At Travelution Holidays, we’ve seen many of our guests miss out on easy points just because they didn’t know how the system works.
So if you’re already a Great Member, or you’ve just booked your first Club Med holiday with us, this guide will show you how to earn more Club Med Great Members points, move up the tiers faster, and enjoy the little extras that come with each level.
A Quick Refresher: How Club Med Great Members Works
Here’s the basic idea.
- You earn 1 point for every €1 spent (or the equivalent in your local currency) on your Club Med package price.
- Your points expire two years after your trip ends.
- There are four tiers in the program: Turquoise, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
- Turquoise – starting tier
- Silver – 10,000 points
- Gold – 27,000 points
- Platinum – 55,000 points.
- Once you reach a new tier (like Silver, Gold or Platinum), that status lasts for the calendar year unless you have an cancellation of future bookings which may affect the status.
- Points have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for free nights. Your tier determines the benefits you receive.
When you first join, you start at the Turquoise tier. Once you hit Silver or higher, some of those benefits include:
- Free early arrival at the resort which includes lunch on your first day.
- Gift Passes that can be used for boutique shopping or excursions.
- Premium Wi-Fi at the resort, faster than the standard connection.
- Exclusive access to certain privileges and surprises depending on your tier. Do note that some benefits may vary by resort.
We’ve used those Gift Passes ourselves to redeem a spa treatment or pick up Club Med shirts and little souvenirs. It’s a nice feeling when your loyalty turns into something you can actually hold on to. And yes, we pay for our Club Med holidays ourselves.
How to Earn More Club Med Great Members Points
Now that you know how the programme works, let’s talk about how to earn more Club Med Great Members points faster. Most people think you only earn by staying at the resort, but there are several ways to grow your total more efficiently.
1. Stay at Least 2 Nights (Longer Stays Mean More Bonus Points)
Let’s start with the simplest one.
Club Med gives you bonus points depending on how long you stay:
- 1-night stay = 1,500 points
- Stay of 2–7 nights = 2,500 points
- Stay of 8 nights or more = 3,000 points
So if you’re thinking of doing a quick one-night stop, it might be worth extending your trip a little. A 2-night stay gives you 1,000 extra points, and an 8-night stay adds an additional 500 on top.
Staying longer lets you really settle into the resort rhythm. You get more time to enjoy activities, try the restaurants, and just relax without rushing.
At Travelution Holidays, we usually recommend at least 3 to 5 nights for a proper Club Med experience, whether it’s Phuket, Bintan, Tomamu, or Cherating. And if you can stretch it to 7 or 8 nights, you’ll unlock that top bonus point range too.
2. Open Your Resort Account When You Arrive and Charge All Spending to Your Room
Here’s a tip that even frequent guests sometimes forget.
When you arrive at your Club Med resort, be sure to open your resort account. Then, for any purchases at the resort, boutique shopping, spa treatments, excursions and charge everything to your room and settle it upon checkout.
You’ll earn 100 points for every €100 spent, and it counts towards your total.
If you’re travelling with family or friends, you can also ask to charge their purchases to your room so that all the spending accumulates under your account. It’s completely allowed, and a smart way to earn faster.
A few things to remember:
- Keep all your receipts in case you need to verify your charges later.
- Confirm at checkout that the spend is linked to your member account
We’ve had clients who spent a few hundreds on boutique items and spa treatments but didn’t realise those could also earn points. By simply charging them to the room instead of paying upfront, you can easily collect hundreds of extra points.

3. Book Early – Future Booking Points Count Towards Your Current Status
This one often surprises people.
When you make a future Club Med booking, the points from that upcoming trip can be calculated towards your current status. That means you don’t have to wait until after your next trip to benefit from those points. They can help you reach the next tier now.
So, if you know you’re planning a ski trip next winter or a family beach getaway next summer, it’s worth booking early. You’ll not only lock in better prices (especially during Club Med’s early booking offers), but your future trip points will help boost your current tier faster.
For example, if you’re close to moving from Turquoise to Silver status, booking your next trip ahead of time could help you cross that line earlier and start enjoying Silver benefits right away.
Booking through Travelution Holidays makes this even easier, we’ll make sure your future bookings are linked correctly to your Club Med Great Members account so that you don’t miss out on any eligible points.
4. Refer New Friends Who Have Never Stayed at Club Med
One of the easiest ways to earn a large chunk of bonus points is through referrals.
If you refer someone who’s new to Club Med, and they stay for at least 4 nights on non-blackout dates, you’ll earn 2,500 points per referral once they’ve completed their stay.
You can recommend up to 10 new people per year, and if you successfully refer 4 people, you’ll automatically get Silver Tier status.
That’s a huge shortcut if you have friends or family who have been thinking about trying Club Med for the first time.
A few reminders:
- Make sure your friend books using the referral code
- They must be new guests who’ve never stayed at Club Med before.
- Their stay must be a minimum of 4 nights and not during blackout dates.
We’ve seen some of our Travelution clients reach Silver or even Gold tier just from sharing their Club Med experiences with others. When you’re passionate about the brand, it’s an easy conversation. Most people who go once end up wanting to go again anyway.
5. Book a Club Med Flight Package
Another good strategy is to book a Club Med package that includes flights.
When you purchase a flight-inclusive package, the entire package price qualifies for Great Member points. That includes both the accommodation and the flight portion.
And yes, you can still earn your usual frequent flyer miles on top of that. So you’re getting the best of both worlds, airline miles and Club Med points.
If you book the resort stay separately and arrange flights on your own, you’ll only earn points based on the resort stay. So whenever possible, it’s worth comparing both options. The flight package price is usually cheaper than booking everything separately, and with the added points and convenience, it’s well worth it.
Travelution Holidays can help you check flight-inclusive packages easily. We’ll make sure your booking qualifies for Great Member points and also help you choose flights that match your airline loyalty programme.
6. Travel Together, Earn Together
Another simple but often overlooked way to earn more Great Member points is by linking more people to your membership. Each Club Med Great Members account can include up to six adults, which is perfect if you often travel with family or a group of friends. When they’re added under your membership and included in the same booking, the cost of their stay will be counted towards your total points.
It’s a subtle advantage, but one that adds up over time. For example, if you’re planning a group holiday or a family getaway, linking everyone under your membership means the combined value of all their stays contributes to your point balance. Over a few trips, that shared total can easily push you to a higher tier, from Turquoise to Silver, or even Gold. It doesn’t change the price for anyone, but it helps you earn faster while everyone still enjoys the same great Club Med experience.

8. Extra Perks You Shouldn’t Miss
Here’s a quick list of perks that Club Med Great Members enjoy, and why they’re worth aiming for:
- Free early arrival including lunch on your first day – perfect for those morning flights!
- Gift Pass – usable for boutique purchases, spa or excursions. We’ve personally used ours many times for spa visits, resort merchandise, or small gifts.
- Exclusive events – depending on your tier, you might receive private invitations or surprises during your stay.
- Recognition at check-in – higher tiers often receive special greetings or small gestures that make the trip more personal.
These are small details, but they add up to a smoother, more enjoyable stay. That’s part of why earning more points isn’t just about the numbers, it’s about making every Club Med trip feel more rewarding.
