Club Med Bali Review - Beach Sunset

Club Med Bali Review

Club Med Bali is one of those places I keep finding myself coming back to. It was actually the second Club Med resort I ever visited, even before Cherating, and I still remember that very first trip back in April 2010. Certain moments from that stay just stuck with me. Long, lazy afternoons by the beach and the G.Os who made you feel like an old friend rather than just a guest. And of course, that unique Club Med vibe you can’t really put into words but you feel it the moment you’re there.

If you’ve been daydreaming about a tropical escape that’s easy, fun, and offers just the right mix of downtime and activity, then Club Med Bali is worth a look. The resort sits on Nusa Dua beach, sharing the stretch with other four and five-star hotels. Outside the gates, you’ve got massage spots, little eateries, and even an open-air shopping center just minutes away. The beach itself isn’t private, but it never feels busy either, which is nice.

In this Club Med Bali review, I’ll share why this resort continues to be worth coming back to, even more than a decade after my very first visit.

Best Time to Visit Club Med Bali

The weather can really set the tone for a beach holiday. If you’re chasing clear skies, plenty of sunshine, and calm seas, then the dry season from April to October is your best choice. That’s when Bali shows off at its finest. Think long bright days made for lazy poolside lounging, wandering around the island, or joining all the activities Club Med has lined up.

From November through March, things shift into the monsoon season. The air feels heavier, and humidity shoots up. It doesn’t pour all day, but you’ll often get short, heavy showers in the afternoons. The upside is that it’s quieter and usually more affordable. If you don’t mind dodging a bit of rain, it can actually be a really good time to visit.

Personally, I think June and July are the best months. The cool winter winds from Australia drift in, the air feels lighter, and you hardly break a sweat. Perfect weather for being outdoors, whether that’s at the beach, by the pool, or out exploring.

Getting To Club Med Bali and Airport Transfers

If you’re flying in from Kuala Lumpur, getting to Bali is easy. There are plenty of direct flights with Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Batik Air. Once you land at Ngurah Rai International Airport, it’s only about a 20-minute drive to Club Med Bali.

The resort does offer airport transfers, which makes things really simple. A Club Med GO will be waiting at the arrival hall to greet you at the Club Med Welcome to Bali signage. If you’d rather do your own thing, private transfers and Grab are also available, so it’s pretty flexible.

Arriving at Club Med Bali

Stepping into Club Med Bali really does feel like a breath of fresh air. Official check-in starts at 3pm, and the whole process is usually smooth from the moment you walk in.

Upon arrival, a Club Med GO from the Welcome & Services team will hand you a wristband that works as both your room key and cashless payment. Just open an account to activate it, and you’re set. No more juggling room cards or worrying about loose cash, everything is on your wrist. Your bags are taken care of too, delivered straight to your room while you sip on a welcome drink, stretch after the flight, or wander around to get a feel for the place.

Arriving before 3pm? You can still check in by paying an early arrival fee, which also includes lunch on your first day. Your room might only be ready after 3pm, but you’re welcome to start enjoying the resort right away. If you booked a Club Med flight package or hold Silver, Gold, or Platinum membership, that early arrival fee is waived, which is a nice perk.

Resort Layout

The resort itself is spread out, though you’ll get the hang of the layout after a day or so. Most of the rooms sit right in the middle, so you’re never too far from anything. Down at the bottom right of the map is the main area, where most of the action takes place. You’ll find the main restaurant, bar, theatre, pool, trapeze, gym, and the kids club all gathered in one lively spot.

Up at the top left is where the land sports are, like archery, golf, and tennis, along with the zen pool and the spa. The top center and right are home to the specialty restaurant and all the water sports.
Everything’s nicely spread out, so you never feel crowded.

What’s Included at Club Med Bali

This is really where Club Med Bali sets itself apart from other resorts on the island. The all-inclusive concept isn’t just a buzzword here. Once you’re checked in, the usual worries are out of the way. No pulling out your wallet every hour or second-guessing what’s included. It’s all sorted from the start.

What’s included in your stay:

  • Comfortable accommodation
  • Gourmet meals and snacks (you could eat up to six times a day if you wanted to)
  • Unlimited drinks, from juices and cocktails to mocktails and coffee any time of the day
  • Kids clubs for ages 4 to 17
  • A wide range of sports and leisure activities, like trapeze, yoga, windsurfing, snorkelling and plenty more
  • Entertainment day and night, with shows, live music, and themed nights
  • Wi-Fi throughout the resort

There are a few things that are not part of the package. Spa treatments, childcare for little ones under 4, excursions, and premium dining or drinks come at an extra cost. But honestly, you could spend a full week here without paying a single extra rupiah and still feel like you got way more than your money’s worth.

It’s the kind of setup that lets you switch off completely. No overthinking, no daily budgeting. You just arrive, settle in, and enjoy the moment.et the resort do the rest.

Club Med Bali Review on the Rooms

Club Med Bali offers a few different room categories, each with its own little perks depending on what you need.

Guests with reduced mobility are also considered. The resort has two accessible rooms, thoughtfully located on the ground floor near the reception and gym. Because these are limited, it’s best to book ahead to secure a smooth and comfortable stay.

Being on the ground floor, these rooms are convenient too, especially if you prefer easy access without having to deal with stairs.

Each room accommodates up to 3 guests (2 adults and 1 child), which makes it an ideal setup for couples traveling with one child. For families or groups who want to stay close but still enjoy some privacy, there’s also the option of booking interconnecting Deluxe Rooms. In our Club Med Bali review, we found that rooms range from Superior to Deluxe and Suites, all designed for comfort and convenience. Families often go for interconnecting rooms, while couples and solo travellers enjoy the quieter, well-appointed options.

Here’s a tip from experience: don’t feel pressured to book the highest room category. At Club Med, you’ll spend most of your time enjoying activities, meals, and evening shows around the resort. The room is really just for a good shower and a comfortable sleep, so even the entry-level category does the job perfectly.

Club Med Bali Restaurants: Flavours of Bali and Beyond

If you love food, or even just appreciate having plenty of options, you’ll feel right at home at Club Med Bali. Dining here isn’t only about filling your plate. It’s very much part of the whole resort experience.

Main Restaurant: The Agung Restaurant

The Agung Restaurant is the heart of dining at Club Med Bali, and where most guests end up spending a good chunk of their mealtimes. It’s buffet-style, but don’t let that word fool you into thinking it’s generic. The spread here is diverse, beautifully presented, and changes often enough that you’ll never get bored. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included, and each service feels like a mini world tour of flavors.

On any given day, you’ll find Indonesian classics like mee goreng sitting comfortably alongside Japanese sushi, comforting miso soup, Indian curries, Korean specialties, and a full Italian section with proper wood-fired pizza and pasta dishes. There’s also a Western corner with familiar favorites, plus a dedicated Healthy Corner for vegan-friendly and lighter meals. For dessert, don’t miss the indulgent rum & raisin ice cream, which has become a bit of a guest favorite.

Dine in comfort at The Agung, Club Med Bali’s main restaurant.

Mornings start off right with freshly squeezed juices from the buffet, perfect for pairing with tropical fruit or a hot breakfast plate. Come lunchtime and dinner, the experience gets elevated with complimentary house red, white, or rosé wine, served to your table on request. The staff are attentive but never intrusive, always quick with a smile and happy to top up your glass.

Club Med Bali Review - Agung Restaurant Fruits Corner
Healthy, fresh, and delicious. The Agung restaurant fruits corner is a must-try.

Seating is flexible depending on your mood. You can sit indoors in air-conditioned comfort, outdoors where the breeze rolls in, or even in the quieter no-kids indoor section if you want a calmer atmosphere. And if you’re feeling social, there’s the option to invite a Club Med GO to join you for a meal. They’re always friendly, often great storytellers, and it adds a personal touch to the whole dining experience.

One thing worth noting is that pork is served at The Agung, so if you have dietary restrictions it’s something to keep in mind. That said, the chefs are more than willing to accommodate special requests or prepare personalized meals when needed, which is reassuring if you’re traveling with specific dietary needs.

Overall, The Agung doesn’t just feed you, it makes dining part of the holiday experience. The variety, quality, and atmosphere all come together to make it a place you’ll look forward to at every mealtime.

Gourmet Lounge: The Deck Restaurant

If you’re in the mood for something a little more intimate, The Deck is Club Med Bali’s gourmet lounge, and it’s absolutely worth keeping on your radar. During the day, it has a relaxed, almost beach-club vibe. You can walk in for a late breakfast or an easy-going late lunch. The menu is à la carte, with a mix of fusion-style dishes, light bites, and comfort food, and you can order as much as you like. No limits, no fuss. I usually make this my first stop after checking in. It feels like the perfect way to ease into the holiday, sitting back with a cold drink and something fresh from the kitchen while the ocean breeze drifts in.

Club Med Bali Review - The Deck Rendang Dish
Indonesian flavours at their finest: Rendang at The Deck restaurant.

Dinner is a different story. This is where The Deck really shines. You’ll need a reservation in advance, but that little bit of effort pays off once you’re seated. The atmosphere transforms in the evening. The lighting is softer, the crowd is smaller, and the entire space feels more refined, almost romantic. It’s not over the top, but it’s the kind of setting where you can have a date night or a quiet dinner without having to weave around kids dashing past with ice cream cones from the buffet.

The food matches the mood. The menu blends Indonesian and Balinese flavors with Western favorites, leaning toward quality over quantity. It’s not a huge list of choices, and that’s exactly the charm. Each dish feels considered, plated with care, and packed with flavor. Think fragrant satays with just the right amount of char, beautifully grilled seafood, or a perfectly tender steak if that’s more your style. The kind of plates where you slow down and savour instead of rushing through. If it’s on your must-try list, I’d suggest locking in a table as soon as you arrive at the resort. Seats don’t always last long, and it would be a shame to miss out.

Club Med Bali Bars: Where the Vibe Comes Alive

After a full day of activities, or even a lazy afternoon doing absolutely nothing by the pool, the bars at Club Med Bali are where the mood starts to shift. Some people wind down with a quiet drink, while others gear up for another round of socializing.

The main bar, Kintamani, is the heart of the social scene. It’s buzzing pretty much all day, especially before and after dinner, and then again after the evening show. The bartenders are welcoming, quick on the pour, and always happy to whip up something off-menu if you feel like experimenting. There’s a solid cocktail list, plus the usual wine, beer, juices, and soft drinks, all included. And if you get peckish, keep an eye out for Makan On Wheels, the resort’s little snack cart that pops up at Kintamani Bar. It’s perfect when you want a quick bite between activities or drinks.

Here is the Club Med Bali drinks list included in the all-inclusive package:

  • Hot drinks – Espresso, Americano, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Hot Chocolate

Club Med Bali Review - Kintamani Bar
Sip, relax, repeat. Kintamani Bar is the heart of social vibes at Club Med Bali.

If you’re after something calmer, the Beach Bar is a nice alternative. At night it feels peaceful, with the sea breeze drifting in. During the day it can get a bit busier, partly because it also serves walk-in guests from other nearby resorts, though they have to pay for their drinks. For Club Med guests, everything’s still included.

Then there’s the Zen Pool bar. It’s adults-only, tucked away from the livelier parts of the resort, and has this relaxed, almost spa-like vibe. Order something cold, sink into a lounger, and just let the palm trees and quiet atmosphere do their thing. It’s easily one of the best places on the property to recharge.

Club Med Bali Activities & Entertainment

Whether you’re the type who can’t sit still or someone who just wants a little fun between naps, Club Med Bali has you covered. The sheer variety of activities is pretty impressive, and the best part is that most of it’s included in your stay.

Land Sports

If you like staying active on holiday, Club Med Bali makes it really easy. You don’t even need to bring equipment because everything’s provided. Some guest favourites include:

  • Flying trapeze. Yes, the circus kind. The first climb up can feel nerve-wracking, but once you swing, it’s pure adrenaline.
  • Archery for a bit of focus-and-aim fun.
  • Golf and tennis lessons, perfect if you want to try something new without the hassle of packing gear.
  • Padel tennis, with brand-new courts that have quickly become a popular hangout spot.
  • Daily yoga sessions, ranging from calm morning stretches to more challenging flows.

Water Sports

Being in Bali, the water is just too tempting to ignore. The resort has a mix of calm activities and ones with a bit more thrill:

  • Snorkelling excursions, with a quick swim test before going out. (one lap in the sea).
  • Kayaking along the calm waters, great for beginners or just a peaceful paddle.
  • Stand-up paddleboarding, which is harder than it looks at first but addictive once you get the balance.
  • Windsurfing, for anyone ready to mix speed with ocean breezes.
  • Pool activities, including fun games and aqua fitness sessions that keep things lively without leaving the resort.

Evening Entertainment

When the sun sets at Club Med Bali, the energy shifts but never fades. The evenings come alive with themed shows and live performances that change from night to night, keeping things fresh and unexpected. One evening you might catch a high-energy dance or acrobatic performance, while the next could be more cultural or theatrical. After the show, the party doesn’t stop. Everyone is welcome to jump in for the famous Crazy Signs, Club Med’s signature group dances that are easy to pick up and always get the crowd laughing and moving together. The vibe depends on the night, sometimes mellow with live music and cocktails by the bar, other times buzzing with a lively party atmosphere, but either way it’s easy to get swept up in the fun and end up staying out longer than you thought.

To add to the sense of occasion, there’s also a daily evening wear theme. Guests are encouraged to dress up according to the style of the night, whether it’s chic, casual white, or something colorful and playful. It adds a festive touch and makes every evening feel just that little bit more special. You can always check the Club Med app to know what to wear and what’s on, so you’re never caught off guard.

Club Med Bali Wellness & Relaxation

If your idea of a perfect holiday involves a good book, a comfy lounger, and a cold drink in hand, you’ll find your zen at Club Med Bali.

The adults-only Zen Pool is one of those hidden gems within the resort. It’s shaded, calm, and completely free of the usual splashes and squeals from the main pool. Couples love it, but it’s just as nice if you’re traveling solo and want a quiet place to switch off for a while.

If you lean more toward pampering than paddling, the Club Med Spa brings out the more indulgent side of Bali. I booked a 50-minute massage and it ended up being one of the highlights of my stay. The treatment itself was fantastic, but what made it stand out was the little extras, like having access to the spa pool, which turned it into more of a full spa day than just a massage slot. We tried massages outside the resort too, and while those were fine, the Club Med spa felt a notch above. The products were better, the space was cleaner and more modern, and the staff were genuinely warm and attentive.

Kids Club: Thoughtfully Designed for Every Age Group

You are on holiday now, and at Club Med Bali, that actually means you get to relax too. The childcare programme is one of the best I’ve seen, with safe, structured, and genuinely fun experiences for kids of all ages, from babies to teens.

Here’s how it works:

Baby Club Med (4–23 months) – Extra cost

The tiniest travellers get a cosy, quiet space designed just for them. Lots of cuddles, naps, and gentle play with sensory toys and soft mats. The carers are patient, kind, and fully trained, which makes leaving your little one here surprisingly stress-free.

Petit Club Med (2–3 years) – Extra cost

This stage is all about mixing play with routine. Toddlers get a balance of crafts, outdoor games, and nature walks, with naps and meals built into the day. It feels familiar for them and reassuring for parents.

Mini Club Med (4–10 years) – Included

The star of the show for most families. Kids are kept busy with treasure hunts, sports, dancing, crafts, and even small performances where they get to shine. The energy is high, the setup is safe, and the G.Os somehow keep everything running smoothly.

Teens Club / Chill Pass (11–17 years) – Included

This one gets big points for not being forced fun. Teens can dip in and out of activities like DJ lessons, tournaments, or pool games, or just hang out in spaces that feel cool instead of cringey. It’s lightly supervised but still gives them the independence they want.

Amazing Family! – Included

Families will love the Amazing Family! program, a series of fun activities designed to bring parents and kids together through play, creativity, and discovery. Instead of everyone going off in different directions, this program encourages families to reconnect with simple joys, whether it’s joining in a treasure hunt around the resort, playing giant outdoor games, or taking part in Balinese-inspired workshops.

Pajama Party (2-10 Years) – Extra Cost

Little ones get their own version of nightlife with the Pajama Party. Running every evening from 9pm to midnight, it’s designed just for kids between 2 and 10 years old. Think of it as a mix of fun and cozy, where children can enjoy popcorn, play games with new friends, watch movies, and wind down in a safe, supervised space while parents enjoy their own evening. It gives families that perfect balance, kids are entertained and happy, and parents get a few carefree hours to themselves knowing their little ones are well looked after.

Why it works so well

What makes it work so well is the balance. The kids get structure, independence, and activities tailored to their age, while you get something that feels rare on a family holiday, uninterrupted time. Maybe that’s stretching out by the Zen Pool, booking a spa treatment, or just letting yourself do nothing at all.

Each age group has its own space and dedicated G.Os who are energetic, warm, and genuinely seem to love what they do. That makes it a whole lot easier to hand your child over without second-guessing.

The clubs run through most of the day, split into morning and afternoon sessions. Some evenings you can even book care, giving you the chance to enjoy a quiet dinner or a cocktail, knowing your kids are happily winding down with their own activities.

When everyone’s content, the trip stops feeling like “managing kids in a new place” and starts feeling like the holiday you’ve been looking forward to. Whether you’ve got a baby, a lively preschooler, or a teenager in tow, Club Med Bali really does make it easier to relax.

Things to Do Near Club Med Bali

One of the perks of staying at Club Med Bali is that you don’t have to go far to find something interesting outside the resort. Nusa Dua has a few little gems worth checking out if you’re up for a short walk or a quick ride.

Warung Pak Dobil – Babi Guling

If you’re curious about authentic Balinese food, Warung Pak Dobil is the place to go. Their specialty is babi guling, or suckling pig, served with rice and spicy condiments. It’s simple, no-frills dining, but that’s the charm. The place is usually packed with locals during lunch hours, which says a lot. If you’re only going to try babi guling once during your trip, this is a solid choice.

Garden of Hope and Water Blow

Just a short distance from outside the resort area, you’ll find the Garden of Hope and the famous Water Blow lookout point. The Garden of Hope is a peaceful little space, often dotted with flowers and greenery, while Water Blow is where waves crash dramatically against the rocks. On a windy day, you might even get splashed, so it makes for a fun photo spot. It’s a short stroll and worth it for the view alone.

If you feel like a bit of shopping or just want to step back into air conditioning, head over to Bali Collection. It’s a shopping and dining complex with a mix of international and local stores. You’ll find familiar names like Sogo Department Store, Starbucks, and Cold Stone, along with sports shops, souvenir stands, and plenty of restaurants and massage places. It’s a good option if you want a break from the beach or need a few practical things during your stay.

Club Med Bali Meetings & Events

Thinking about a corporate retreat, incentive trip, or a group getaway? Club Med Bali might just be the perfect spot, and Travelution Holidays can make the whole process smooth from start to finish.

The resort has proper meeting spaces for when you need to get down to business, but the real charm is how easy it is to balance work with play. Once the sessions wrap up, your team can head straight into activities designed for bonding, whether that’s friendly Olympic-style games on the beach, learning to cook Thai dishes together, or just relaxing with a cocktail by the pool.

Meals are all taken care of with Club Med’s all-inclusive dining, so no one has to think about where to eat or how to split bills. Everything from room arrangements to airport transfers can be tailored for your group. If you want to add something special, like a private excursion to see Bali’s temples or rice terraces, we’ll help organise that too.

In short, your team gets the benefit of focus and connection, while all the tricky logistics are off your shoulders.

As our holiday in Bali comes to an end, here are a few things to know so your check-out feels as smooth as the island breeze.

Check-Out Time

Rooms need to be vacated by 10am. You can still enjoy the resort facilities after that, so no need to rush. If you’d like to keep your room longer, late check-out is available for IDR 150,000 per hour, subject to availability. It’s best to request this at the reception the day before departure.

Transfers & Departure Time

If you’ve arranged a Club Med transfer, your departure time will be displayed on the TV screen near reception the evening before you leave. Be sure to check it early so you don’t miss your ride. Transfers are scheduled carefully to connect with flights.

Luggage Pickup

Planning to use the luggage assistance service? Place your bags outside your room at least one hour before departure and call reception to confirm pick-up. Don’t forget to label them clearly, and make your way to the lobby at least 15 minutes before departure so you can identify your bags before loading.

One Last Treat: Lunch Is Included

Even though check-out is at 10am, you’re still entitled to lunch before you go. So take your time, enjoy one more Balinese meal, maybe some tropical fruit or nasi goreng, and soak in the last bit of holiday atmosphere before heading home.

Handy Tips for Your Stay at Club Med Bali

Here are a few little things I wish someone had told me before my first visit. Nothing fancy, just the kind of practical bits that make your holiday smoother and a lot more enjoyable:

  • Pack more sunscreen than you think you’ll need. The Bali sun is strong. You’ll go through it faster than expected, and buying extra at the resort isn’t cheap. Reapply often, especially after a swim.
  • Bring insect repellent. Around sunset the mosquitoes get cheeky, especially if you’re near the gardens or hanging by the pool. A quick spray saves you from itchy evenings.
  • Reserve dinner at The Deck early. This restaurant is popular for good reason, and once it’s booked out, there’s no sneaking in. If you’re eyeing a romantic date night or just want a quieter meal, book it as soon as you check in.
  • Keep a day bag handy for check-out. Pack your essentials like passport, sunscreen, swimwear, charger, and maybe a dry change of clothes. Even after you’ve checked out of your room, you can still make the most of the pool or bar before heading off.
  • Wear comfy footwear. The resort is spread out, and you’ll be doing plenty of walking between activities, the beach, and the restaurants. Flip-flops work, but sandals with some support will be kinder to your feet.
  • Download the Club Med app. It’s surprisingly handy. Daily schedules, activity sign-ups, spa bookings, resort maps, all in one place. Saves you from missing out or running around guessing where things are happening.

Final Thoughts: Club Med Bali Review

So, is Club Med Bali worth it? Absolutely. It’s a solid choice for families, couples, and even groups of friends who just want everything sorted the moment they arrive. The mix of Balinese charm with that signature Club Med all-inclusive style makes it easy to switch off and enjoy yourself.

What I really like is the balance they’ve managed to strike. You get the peace of a beachfront resort with tropical gardens and ocean views, but you’re not cut off from the rest of Bali. A quick walk or bike ride takes you to local shops, massage spots, or a café by the sea. You still feel connected to the island, just without the chaos of busier areas like Kuta.

If I had to point out a drawback, it would be the beach. Because it’s public, you’ll sometimes see vendors walking by. That said, the sand is clean, the stretch is wide, and there are more than enough loungers with umbrellas. Once you’ve settled in with a drink in hand, it feels just as relaxing as you’d hope.

At the end of the day, Club Med Bali works because it’s easy. You don’t have to overthink meals, activities, or childcare. You just show up, join in when you feel like it, or kick back when you don’t. And that, in my opinion, is what makes a holiday here genuinely stress-free.
