Malaysia Academic Year

Following disruptions caused by COVID-19, Malaysia’s school calendar has shifted. However, there are plans to revert to the traditional January–December school year starting in 2026.

For 2025, the academic year will run from February to December, with scheduled breaks for public and school holidays. The 2025–2026 academic year is set to begin on 16 February 2025 for Group A states and 17 February 2025 for Group B states. The variation in start dates is due to different weekend observances across states.
