Club Med Phuket Family Oasis Review: A First Look at the Newest Family Focused Area in the Asia-Pacific Region

Introduction: Expectations on Club Med Phuket Family Oasis

I have heard about Club Med Phuket for years, usually from guests who wanted something relaxing and easy and a little bit fun at the same time. My colleagues visited the resort two years ago and came home with stories about how much had changed since the big renovation works began. Most of the rooms were refreshed, the public spaces were updated, and the whole place seemed to be preparing for something new.

Stepping into paradise, the iconic entrance of Club Med Phuket, where every moment feels like a getaway within a getaway

So this time, I thought it was finally the right moment to see it with my own eyes, during my first trip to Club Med Phuket. I had bits and pieces of expectations based on what my team told me, but I tried not to rely too much on that because I knew the resort had just added something completely new.

The new addition is the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis, which officially opened only a few months ago in May. It is so new that there are barely any honest reviews or detailed information online, which made me even more curious. I wanted to experience it for myself and understand what families would actually feel when staying here.

Most people know Club Med Phuket as a popular spot during the sunny months when the sky clears up, the waves soften, and the beach becomes the kind of place where visitors end up staying longer than they planned.

But with this brand new Family Oasis area, the resort is clearly aiming to offer something more than just good weather and all inclusive comfort. It is something specifically designed for families who want a place where children can have fun safely while parents finally get a moment to breathe.

Club Med Phuket Family Oasis - Resort Briefing
A warm Club Med welcome as the GO team making sure every family feels right at home from the moment they check in

Stepping into the resort for the first time, I could feel that mix of familiar Club Med ease and a sense of newness. Maybe it was because I already knew I was here mainly to explore the Family Oasis area, or maybe it was just the thought that I was seeing this resort at a very different time from when my colleagues saw it.

Either way, the excitement felt a little more personal than expected. This was not just another hotel inspection. It felt more like uncovering something that has not been widely talked about yet. And that is where my journey into the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis began.

Family Oasis: The First of Its Kind in Club Med Asia Pacific

The Club Med Phuket Family Oasis is the first Family Oasis concept in the Asia-Pacific region. That alone makes it quite a milestone. Before this, Club Med properties in the region had family friendly elements spread across their resorts. But this is the first time they created a dedicated family-centred section that functions almost like a neighbourhood made for parents and children.

You can feel that intention as you step into the area. The atmosphere changes slightly. It becomes calmer, maybe even softer. And because everything is so new, the colours still look bright and the details are still crisp.

One of the first things you see in the Family Oasis is the splash park. It is right in the middle of the zone. You hear water sounds before you even see the slides. I arrived in the late morning and families were already there with their kids splashing around. The whole area has a cheerful energy to it. Not overwhelming, just happy and relaxed.

Club Med Phuket Family Oasis - Splash Park
Meet the newest highlight at Club Med Phuket: the Family Oasis Splash Park. With mini slides, water jets, and shallow pools, it’s basically paradise for kids

You can imagine children waking up excited every morning because they know they have this entire playground waiting for them. As an adult, the splash park is not exactly something you will use yourself, but watching how much fun children have there actually becomes part of your holiday mood.

The Family Oasis also has its own family bar. I will get into more detail later, but I like how it gives adults a place to sit with a drink while watching their kids. The drinks served here are mostly non-alcoholic, which makes the environment feel even more family oriented. It also gives a small break from the busier main bar in the centre of the resort.

A cosy corner of the Family Oasis area where families can grab a drink, unwind and enjoy the view of the splash park

But the true heart of the Family Oasis, in my opinion, is not the splash park or the family bar. It is the brand new rooms. They were built from scratch, not renovated from existing structures. Everything still smells new. Walls are fresh. Furniture looks untouched. The colours are warm but not too intense. And the themed rooms, especially, have a fun and playful feel that children absolutely love. For families with young travellers, this adds so much to the overall experience.

What I appreciate about the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis is how it brings everything needed by families into one place: new rooms, a splash park, a family bar, and close access to several sports facilities. It is almost like a mini village built to make parents’ lives easier. The convenience is noticeable. And because it is new, it feels like they took what they learned from other Club Med resorts and combined the best ideas here.

Location: A Quiet Corner at the Far End of the Resort

The Family Oasis area is located right at the far end of Club Med Phuket. If you look at the resort map, it is almost completely opposite the Zen Pool and Chu-Da Specialty Restaurant.

At first, I thought this might feel too far or inconvenient, but after exploring, the placement started to make sense. Families often appreciate quieter spaces, and being at the end of the resort naturally creates a more peaceful environment. Children can run around without the bustle of the central areas. Parents can relax without worrying about crowds. And since it is new, everything feels private in a very comfortable way.

Club Med Phuket Family Oasis - Room Block
A welcoming first look at the Family Oasis area, guiding families into the resort’s newest and most colourful section

Walking from the reception to the Family Oasis area takes about five to ten minutes. If you have older children or enjoy walking through the resort’s gardens, this is nothing. But if you are travelling with toddlers or pushing strollers, the distance might feel long at first.

Thankfully, the resort anticipated this and introduced a shuttle service. It runs every fifteen minutes and travels between three points: the Family Oasis area, the reception, and the Zen Pool area. The shuttle is easy to spot because it has a bright design on it. I rode it a few times, and it was always on time.

There is also something nice about how the Family Oasis is located right next to many of the land sports facilities. If your family enjoys active activities, this location is actually perfect. Archery is literally right outside the rooms. Pickleball, basketball, padel courts, tennis courts, beach volleyball, and even the football field are just beside the Family Oasis zone. For families with energetic children or teenagers, this part of the resort becomes a massive playground.

Some parents might worry that being near the sports area will make the Family Oasis noisy. But during my stay, I found the noise level surprisingly low. Most activities happen throughout the day, not at night. And because the rooms face the splash park instead of the sports fields, the noise is manageable. What you mostly hear are children playing or parents chatting on their terraces.

The only downside of the location, and it is a real one for some guests, is the distance to the main resort facilities. If you want to go to the main swimming pool, the main bar, the boutique, the buffet restaurant, the theatre, the trapeze, or even the Kids Club, you will have to walk or take the shuttle. This is not a problem for most families, but it is something to be aware of. If you prefer being right in the middle of everything, the Family Oasis location may feel a little separate.

Activities such as the White Night Show take place in the main area, where the resort’s liveliest vibes gather

But for families who enjoy privacy and convenience within their own zone, the location becomes a huge advantage. It is peaceful. It is spacious. And it feels like a fresh new part of the resort that belongs entirely to families.

Rooms: The Brand New Family Oasis Superior Rooms and Themed Rooms

This is the part many families will care about most. The rooms in the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis are completely new. Not updated. Not refurbished. They were built in the last year and opened only in May.

When I entered the first room, I could actually smell the new wood and materials. Everything looked untouched. And it felt so refreshing to walk into a room that had clearly never gone through the wear and tear of peak season crowds.

Welcomed by cosy details and a peaceful terrace backdrop, the Family Oasis rooms immediately feel inviting

There are two room types in the Family Oasis area.

Family Oasis Superior Room

This is the standard room, though calling it standard feels a bit unfair because it is still very spacious at 43 sqm. The design is simple and warm. The colours are soft earth tones. Nothing too strong or complicated. It is the type of room that feels calming after a long day of activities, and parents will appreciate that.

Club Med Phuket Family Oasis - Superior Room
A bright and comfortable Family Oasis Superior Room, with a layout that feels easy to settle into from the moment you step in

The layout is thoughtful. The entrance corridor is a little narrow, partly because the toilet and shower are both located right at the doorway. Opposite the bathrooms, there are shelves and storage space. At first, the tight doorway might make you feel like the room is smaller than it really is. But once you step past the entrance, the room opens up beautifully. You get a spacious main sleeping area, a sofa bed for children, and plenty of space to walk around.

For bedding, Club Med follows its usual setup. You get two single beds that can be pushed together to form a double bed. The sofa bed is comfortable for a child or even a teenager. There is a proper desk for parents who need to work or for children who want to draw or do some activities indoors.

Ground floor rooms come with a terrace, while upper floors have a balcony. Both give you a view of the Family Oasis splash park. Sitting outside in the evening while watching the splash park lights come on feels surprisingly relaxing. Families can enjoy quiet moments together without leaving their room.

Family Oasis Superior Themed Room

The themed room is the fun version of the Superior Room. Same size at 43 sqm. Same layout. But everything looks livelier. The colours are brighter. The décor is more playful. You can tell immediately that it is designed to appeal to children. Many families choose this room simply because children get excited the moment they step inside. And that excitement usually sets a nice tone for the whole holiday.

Club Med Phuket Family Oasis - Superior Themed Room
Family-friendly upgrade: more colors, more beds, more smiles in the Family Oasis Superior Themed Room

The biggest difference is the bedding. The themed room has two sofa beds instead of one. One of them is slightly bigger than the other. This gives the room flexibility. If you have two children, each gets a proper bed. If you have three adults and do not mind someone using a sofa bed, the room can also accommodate them. Though in most cases, the Family Oasis rooms are reserved mainly for families with children.

Storage space is good. The closets feel new. The shelves are placed in practical locations. The bathroom design is bright and easy to clean, which parents appreciate more than they realise.

Mobility Accessible Room

There is also a mobility accessible room located on the ground floor. It has extra safety features like handrails, a lowered clothes rack, and emergency alarms. The bathroom is designed for easy access. The pathway to the splash park is smooth enough for wheelchairs. This is something I really appreciate because not many family areas include accessible rooms in their main room categories.

Amenities

Both room types include a mini fridge, safe box, kettle, toiletries, and child friendly amenities like step stools and baby equipment. Club Med is usually good with baby items and can provide a bottle warmer, baby bathtub, or crib if requested in advance.

The air conditioning is strong, which matters in Phuket’s heat. The lighting is warm and adjustable. And the beds are surprisingly comfortable, especially after a long day of activities.

Overall Impressions of the Rooms

I genuinely think the rooms are one of the strongest reasons to stay at the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis. They are spacious, new, clean, and perfectly suited for young families. The themed room adds that extra sparkle that children remember long after the holiday.

If I had to mention a downside, it would be the narrow doorway. But once you pass that area, the room feels much larger and more comfortable. I think families will appreciate how new everything feels. Sometimes a fresh room makes a bigger difference than people expect. It changes the mood. It makes settling in easier. And it gives families a more relaxing base throughout their stay.

Splash Park: The Heart of the Family Oasis

The splash park is probably the feature that children will remember most. It sits in the centre of the Family Oasis like a colourful playground surrounded by brand new rooms. When you walk in, the sound of water immediately fills the space in a cheerful, almost musical way. It sets the tone for the whole area.

This splash park has three water slides. None of them are too intimidating, so even younger children feel comfortable giving them a try. There are water jets, fountains, and playful structures that create endless activities.

The heart of the Family Oasis: where kids splash, play, and make memories

Children were running around with buckets, laughing, and sliding repeatedly during my visit. It is the kind of area where time disappears quickly because children are simply having fun.

Parents love the splash park because it is safe and not too deep. The flooring is slip resistant. Lifeguards and staff walk around regularly. And the entire area is fenced and well contained. You can actually sit on your terrace and watch the splash park from a distance if your room faces that direction.

The splash park is open from 9am to 6pm. During peak hours, especially in the late morning and mid afternoon, it becomes lively. But because the Family Oasis is still new, it does not feel overcrowded yet. There were families, but plenty of space for everyone. If you go right at 9am or around 5pm, you practically get the whole area to yourself.

Another thing I noticed is how the splash park encourages children to play with each other. Kids end up making small friends easily here. Parents sometimes chat with each other too. It creates a sense of community that is warm and casual.

I was also impressed by the cleanliness. Since it is new, everything still looks spotless. The water was clear. The colours looked vibrant. The staff kept the area tidy. I hope this standard stays as the resort gets busier.

Overall, the splash park is a major highlight of the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis, especially for families with young children. It gives children a safe place to be active and gives parents a much needed rest. If you are a parent who dreams of sitting down for a drink while your children are happily occupied within eyesight, this splash park will be one of your favourite places.

Family Oasis Family Bar: A Relaxing Spot for Parents

Right next to the splash park is the Family Oasis Family Bar. It is one of those places you end up visiting more often than expected. At first, I thought it was just a place to grab a quick drink. But once I sat there and watched families come and go, I realised how important this space is.

This family bar offers beverages that are exclusive to the Family Oasis. Limited alcohol beverage here, which keeps the environment relaxed and suitable for families with young children.

One of the drinks that stood out was the Wake Up Call, a refreshing non alcoholic beverage that is surprisingly good in Phuket’s heat. The mocktails were also popular, especially the ones with coconut jelly which they classify under Mogu-Mogu. They tasted light and tropical, which is perfect for a hot day near the splash park.

There are also snacks available. Fruit platters, spring rolls, salad, and light bites that children can grab in between play sessions. It is convenient for families who do not want to walk all the way to the main areas just for a quick snack.

Parents tend to gather here while their children play. I saw many mothers and fathers enjoying casual conversations, some simply enjoying the quiet time while keeping an eye on their children. The seating area is comfortable and shaded. You can stay for five minutes or thirty minutes without feeling rushed.

The family bar adds a layer of convenience that families appreciate. It is simple but thoughtful. When you are travelling with children, small conveniences often feel like big reliefs.

Downsides of the Family Oasis Area

No resort is perfect, and the Family Oasis has a few downsides worth mentioning so families can plan accordingly.

It is at the end of the resort

Walking to the main areas requires time. If you plan to go to the main bar, buffet restaurant, reception, or even the Kids Club, expect a five to ten minute walk or you can wait for the shuttle. The shuttle is helpful but sometimes you just want to walk, and with young children it can feel tiring.

Ground floor rooms can have wildlife visitors

Phuket is home to wildlife, including monitor lizards. They are mostly harmless but can look intimidating. Because ground floor rooms have terraces that open directly to the garden, you might see one walking past.

We actually saw a monitor lizard strolling by our room. The staff were quick to assist and gently moved it back to the forest area. But if reptiles make you uncomfortable, you might prefer a balcony room on the upper floor.

Limited alcohol options near the Family Oasis

The family bar does not serve cocktails. If you want a customized cocktail from your favourite bartender, you will need to walk to the main bar. This is not a major issue, but some parents might prefer having one or two adult drinks closer to the splash park.

New means limited reviews

Because the Family Oasis is so new, families cannot rely on countless past reviews. It might take a few months before enough feedback accumulates. For now, you are experiencing something that not many people know much about yet. That can be exciting but also requires trust in the resort.

Family Oasis rooms may be restricted

Club Med sometimes restricts these rooms to families with children, especially during peak seasons. This means adults travelling in groups without children might not be allowed to book these rooms even if they want the space. It is important to check availability early.

Summary

The brand new Club Med Phuket Family Oasis is a wonderful addition to the resort. It brings a fresh wave of convenience, comfort, and family friendly spaces that make holidays easier for parents and more exciting for children. The rooms are new and spacious. The themed rooms add a playful touch. The splash park is a hit among children. The snack bar provides easy refreshments. And the location near many sports facilities makes the area lively but still peaceful.

Club Med Phuket Family Oasis - Great for Children
From splash parks to kid-friendly corners, the Family Oasis is designed to keep little ones entertained while parents enjoy peace of mind

The distance to the main resort areas is something to consider, but the shuttle helps. The possibility of wildlife sightings around the ground floor might concern some guests, but it is manageable. And the fact that the area is still so new means families get to enjoy facilities that feel untouched.

I think the Club Med Phuket Family Oasis is best suited for families with young children or those who want a quieter zone within the resort. The newer build, the thoughtful layout, and the focus on family comfort make it a strong reason to choose Club Med Phuket over other family resorts in the region.
