There are a total of 15 room blocks (A to O) housed in traditional wooden longhouse structures, providing a comfortable environment and ensuring a restful stay for all guests. Club Med Cherating holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest wooden structure on stilts.
For the little ones, the Kids Club offers a world of excitement and entertainment. Keep up with your fitness routine at the Gym, indulge in retail therapy at the Boutique, or pamper yourself with rejuvenating treatments at the Spa. To access the enchanting Pantai Beach from the main area, you have two convenient options. Hop aboard the shuttle train, which operates every 30 minutes for a swift and convenient journey. Alternatively, take a leisurely stroll along the jungle trail, which takes approximately 20 minutes.
When is Best Time to Visit Club Med Cherating?
Club Med Cherating is open all year-round. The ideal travel period to visit spans from June to August, coinciding with the turtle hatching season. However, if you plan to visit during the monsoon season, occurring from late November to January, certain outdoor activities may be affected by rain.
During such occasions, indoor alternatives such as table tennis, badminton, dance classes, quizzes, and board games will be arranged to ensure guests can still make the most of their time despite inclement weather.
It’s worth noting that Club Med Cherating tends to experience high occupancy towards the end of the year, as many companies aim to utilise their remaining travel budgets before the new year. During my recent stay from November 4th to November 8th, the resort was fully booked even on weekdays.
What is included in the Club Med Cherating Package?
The Club Med Cherating package includes an all-inclusive experience that covers all the essential elements for a hassle-free and convenient vacation. The appeal of this type of holiday lies in the fact that everything you need is taken care of in advance, allowing you the freedom to fully enjoy and immerse yourself in the experience.
The Club Med All-Inclusive Package includes:

What is the Club Med Cherating Check-In and Check Out Time?
The official check-in time at Club Med Cherating is 3:00 PM. Guests may arrive a little earlier at 2:30 PM. However, an early arrival fee may be charged if guests arrive before 2:30 PM.
For check-out, guests need to vacate their rooms by 11:00 AM on the day of departure, allowing time for the resort staff to prepare the rooms for incoming guests. On the departure day, lunch is provided, and guests are expected to leave the resort by 3:00 PM.
Should guests like to extend their check out time, a fee of RM50 per room per hour will apply, subject to the room availability at the resort.
Is there a Club Med Membership Fee?
In the past, there was an annual membership fee collected in addition to the Club Med price. However, Club Med in Malaysia has eliminated this separate membership fee and integrated it into the overall Club Med price.
Club Med Guests are also automatically enrolled in the Great Members program, allowing them to accumulate points that contribute to their status and unlock various benefits during their stay at the resort.
Additionally, guests can earn referral rewards: your friend will receive an instant RM280 discount for their first stay with Club Med, and you earn RM560 in credits when your friend completes their stay. The credits can be used as partial payment for your next Club Med trip.
Getting To Club Med Cherating
Getting to Club Med Cherating is a breeze, ensuring that your journey to this tropical paradise is not only convenient but also rewarding. For travellers coming from Kuala Lumpur, a scenic road trip awaits, with a drive that takes approximately 3.5 hours. The route follows the Karak and East Coast Expressway (LPT) highways, treating you to picturesque views of the countryside and offering glimpses of rural life along the way. There are three tolls that need to be paid: RM4 at Gombak Toll, RM3.5 at Bentong Toll, and RM17.95 from Karak to Jabor, making a total of RM25.45 per way.

If you find yourself in Kuantan, Club Med Cherating is just a short 50-minute drive away. The Kuantan – Kemaman Road provides a seamless connection, allowing you to effortlessly transition from the vibrant city to the serene coastal retreat.
Club Med Cherating Airport Transfers
For those who prefer air travel, Sultan Ahmad Shah (KUA), also known as Kuantan Airport, is the nearest airport to Club Med Cherating. There are daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan with Malaysia Airlines from KLIA and Batik Air from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport).
With a mere one-hour drive from the airport, you can quickly find yourself immersed in the wonders of this tropical haven. You can book an airport taxi at RM80 per car per way or Club Med Cherating offers airport transfers from RM108 per adult or RM87 per child, per way.
Arriving at Club Med Cherating
If you are driving, upon reaching Club Med Cherating, kindly provide the security personnel with your Club Med booking file number, which starts with 344. Alternatively you can present a soft copy of your Club Med confirmation for entrance to the resort.
Due to limited space in the lobby, there may be a short wait if others are arriving simultaneously. Access will be granted once the lobby clears. Proceed to the lobby to drop off your luggage and obtain a car park voucher from the Club Med GO. Park your vehicle in the open-air parking area and make your way to the main lobby.
Club Med GOs will coordinate the delivery of your luggage to your room. Exercise caution with any food items, as monkeys may attempt to take them. Additionally, ensure that water bottles are securely sealed to prevent spillage in your bag or the bags of other guests.
You will then be directed to the theatre for a resort briefing, where you’ll receive a welcome drink, be given a wristband, and the Club Med GO will guide you to your room. Following this, you are free to indulge in and savour your holiday experience at Club Med Cherating.
Club Med Cherating Bar
As part of the Club Med all-inclusive package, guests can indulge in a diverse range of beverages, readily available in the restaurants and bars.
In the restaurants, patrons can savor a complimentary selection of beverages, including water, soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee, tea, and juice. Club Med Cherating features three distinct bars: The Orchid Main Bar, The Bayou Beach Bar, and Zen Pool Bar.
The Orchid Main Bar boasts an extensive array of drinks, encompassing a wide variety of cocktails such as tequila sunrise, margaritas, gin and tonic, and more. Mocktails are also available for guests who do not consume alcohol. Conversely, the Bayou Beach Bar and Zen Pool Bar offer a more limited selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It’s important to note that all beverages provided as part of the all-inclusive package are served by glass.
We have observed that some of our favourite drinks we previously ordered are no longer available at the Orchid Bar. The choice of drinks may vary by season.

Furthermore, for those seeking something lighter, snacks are available at the food cart in the bar area. Whether you prefer a hearty meal or a quick snack, Club Med Cherating has you covered.
Mutiara Restaurant
Mutiara is the main restaurant at Club Med Cherating, where guests can enjoy buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring live cooking stations. The restaurant presents a diverse array of dishes encompassing various cuisines, such as Chinese, Malay, Indian, Japanese, Italian, and Western.
Our favourites include the nasi lemak, with its perfectly balanced sambal, as well as the delectable pizza and the enticing offerings from the Japanese corner. However, we anticipated a more satisfying experience with the redang, as we found the meat to be somewhat tough. Nevertheless, Mutiara’s culinary offerings stand out as among the finest across all Club Med villages.
Rembulan Restaurant
You can dine at Rembulan Restaurant by taking the Club Med train, which operates on a fixed schedule. This specialty restaurant is situated at Pantai Beach and offers a small buffet section for late lunch, while dinner is served with table service. Reservations are necessary for dinner and should be made at least one day in advance.
Should you still crave more after your meal at Rembulan, you can request additional items from the menu or visit Mutiara Restaurant, depending on its opening hours. Alternatively, you can grab a bite from the food cart after the nightly theatre show.
Enak Restaurant
Enak Restaurant is located in the main area adjacent to Mutiara Restaurant. The restaurant operates when Mutiara Restaurant is closed, serving late breakfast, late lunch, and supper. It offers a limited buffet selection for late breakfast, including juices, nasi lemak, congee, an egg station, bread, and cereals. For late lunch and dinner, the restaurant provides a choice of noodles and salads.
Malaysia Chiak
“Malaysia Chiak” is a food cart, a recent addition to the bar area, featuring a concept similar to the Pondok Ria food cart in Club Med Bintan. The food cart operates from 10 am to 12 pm, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and 9:45 pm to 11 pm. It offers a variety of foods depending on the time of day, ranging from sandwiches and fruits to noodles and oden.
Special Dietary Requirements
Club Med Cherating offers halal meals but the restaurant does not hold halal certification due alcohol served (beer and wine).
For guests with specific dietary needs, such as vegetarians, please consult with the head chef at the restaurant to discuss your requirements. The chef and the team will suggest suitable dishes or prepare a main meal tailored to your needs.
In my recent experience in November 2023, my mother experienced stomach discomfort during lunch, and the Chinese chef willingly prepared porridge, while Sean, the restaurant manager, arranged yogurt. The team goes out of their way to ensure all guests are well taken care of.
Parents with infants can make use of the baby corner located beside Mutiara restaurant, open 24 hours, providing small jars of savory and sweet baby food, a blender, steriliser, bottle warmer, microwave, and mineral water.
Meals on the Day of Arrival
Lunch is not included on the day of your arrival at Club Med Cherating. After check-in, you can visit Enak Restaurant for noodles or salad. Additionally, snacks such as pastries or fruits are available at the Malaysia Chiak food cart while waiting for dinner time. However, if you arrive early at the resort, Club Med will charge an early arrival fee of RM140 per adult to cover the cost of the buffet lunch and drinks.
Meals on the Day of Departure
On the day of departure, guests can enjoy breakfast and lunch before leaving the resort. It is important to note that guests must depart before 3pm to avoid additional charges.
Club Med Cherating Rooms
Club Med Cherating provides guests with three room options – Superior Garden, Superior Seaside, and Suite rooms – allowing them to choose based on their budget and needs. For added convenience, families can select interconnecting rooms, where two rooms are connected with a door in the middle. This setup offers guests both privacy and the convenience of moving between rooms without going to the hallway.
All rooms come equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests.
Superior Rooms
There are two types of Superior Rooms at Club Med Cherating—Superior Garden and Superior Seaside. Both types offer interconnecting room options and are situated at different ends of the resort. Each room is 21 square meters in size and features two super single beds that can be joined to create a double bed. The rooms are equipped with amenities such as a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities, empty minibar, separate shower, and toilet. However, it’s important to note that there is no bathtub in the Superior room.
The primary distinction between the two room types is that the Superior Seaside room provides a picturesque sea view and includes a hand bidet in the toilet, a feature not available in the Superior Garden room.
Suite Seaside Terrace
The Suite rooms at Club Med Cherating are perfect for those desiring additional space and luxury. Situated at the end of selected blocks, these rooms offer a quieter and more secluded experience. Spanning a generous 55 sqm, the Suite rooms feature a separate living room, a bathtub, a shower, and a balcony with a sun deck. In-room amenities include a flat-screen TV with international channels, coffee/tea making facilities, a hairdryer, and a minibar that is replenished daily. Guests staying in Suite rooms also enjoy the privilege of an in-room continental breakfast and priority booking for the specialty restaurant.
Room Occupancy
Each room type can accommodate a maximum of two adults with one child and one infant. For families, interconnecting rooms can be arranged to create a family-friendly living space. Baby cots and baby bathtubs are provided in the rooms for infants.
There is an option for triple sharing adults (three adults sharing one room), but please note the third adult will be sleeping on the sofa bed intended for children. If you wish to book a triple share room, subject to room availability, please contact Travelution Holidays for assistance.
If there are two adults and two children in a group, two rooms need to be booked as Club Med’s policy requires each person to have a bed. Some guests have inquired about the possibility of reducing the number of rooms to one. Please note that the pricing at Club Med is based on a per-person rate rather than per room. Thus, even if only one room is occupied, the price will remain the same.

Following dinner, guests can delight in an evening show at the resort’s theatre. The performances, executed by the talented Club Med GOs, encompass a variety of genres, including circus acts, comedies, and musicals.
Post-show, guests can participate in the iconic Club Med dance move known as the “crazy sign,” followed by a visit to the nightclub or a laid-back evening accompanied by live music. Announcements regarding these activities will be made before the theatre show and posted on the daily program notice board.
Evening Dress Code
Club Med Cherating has themed nights with different dress codes every night, including all-white, flowers, and 45/88. While it’s not mandatory to follow the dress code, it’s a fun way to participate in the night’s theme. You can also view the dress code in the Club Med App.
Club Med Cherating Kids Club
Club Med Cherating offers outstanding childcare services for families with children.
